There are still remnants of those civilizations out amidst the sands North and South of the Sulhaut Mountains, though they must be few if the twin cataclysms were as complete as tales say. Have any of you ever run stories revolving around the uncovering of ancient Baklunish or Suel knowledge, artifacts, etc? Feel free to discuss the topic. I am running a game based in and around both Keoland and Yeomanry, and looking for a bit of inspiration. The players have expressed interest in investigating the lost empires of the Suel and Baklunish, and I'd like to feed that fire any way I can. I imagine the plot will include entanglements with the Scarlet Brotherhood. Any other ideas? |

Though if you wanted to incorporate Baklunish knowedge, there is still Zeif, which may have some records of the old days, and there is also Tovag Baragu, which sometimes shows images of pre-devestation Bakluna, and sometimes can be used as a portal to those times past and vice-versa, as there are also some prehistoric mammals that wander around the area of the circle. The Sea of Dust would offer more ruins, but the closer you are to civilization, the more picked over they will be. In the Sea of Dust novel, there were great underground being made canals (no water though) that run under the central Sea of Dust and, barring cave-ins, connect with the lost city. Also in the novel Quag Keep, there were ghost ships that sailed the sea of dust, full of Liches. Though I think these liches are not the same as the D&D lich we all know, but semi-intelligent, zombie-skeletons of folklore. |

These three focus soley on this and I think may be some of my favourite Greyhawk adventures i've played in. You can pick them up as an electronic download pretty cheap. I've run a campaign based on the above which after the events listed the party was employeed full time to artifact hunters. Their job was to find things left over from the Seul_Baklunni conflict. Granted like mentioned above not much is left of the Baklunnish Empire after the Invoked Devestation. However, a few wizards left ahead of time either by finding out "something" bad was going to happen or b/c they were just out of country. Perhaps one went back and built a keep just after the invoked devestation. |
