#1joni-sanJul 03, 2003 15:38:42 | I thought about this some time ago, Planescape has allways been a setting where things are... Different. And when I noticed that Guardians of Order are putting out D20 BESM I thought: Wasn't there a setting that was different from the others, one that allways stuck out from the others with it's art and style? And Then I remembered that Planescape was such a setting (Dark Sun the other) You see, both have a flair that is not a traditional western one and I thought that why not combine them as they have some similarities Imagine a young warrior walking down the street when suddenly a quite feline-like woman suddenly bumps into him and apologizes and points at some men that are chasing her (let's say, Harmonium?) *the warrior draws his blade, a katana, a gift from his Cipher master* Harmoinum Officer: Gives us the girl Warrior: Why? Har-Off: She dropped a banana peel wich caused me to fall War: I can't remember that being against the law? Har-Off: It's called contempt against the Law Cat-Girl:*whispering into the Warriors ear* He's lying, he tried to force himself on me War:*raising eyebrow* I don't think so... Law Dog. Har-Off: THAT'S IT!!! WAAAAAAAAAARGH!!! *Attacks* War:*prepares himself, waits and strikes the fool with the back-side of the blade* :fight!: Har-Off: *gets hit, falls to the ground in a whimper and starts sobbing* War: You'll be fine, *takes a look at new Cat-like friend* You didn't hurt him more than necesary? C-G: All he will need is ice :P *both walk away, and the Harmonium Officers is carried away by his friends* This might happen in your campaign as the elements are quite universal (Young warrior,cat-girl and Arogant military/security officer and a small non-lethal battle) and doesn't that also aply in the city of cities , Sigil? Especialy considering that anything can pass thru Sigil, why not a anime Cat-Girl The Text for the book also mentions new skills/feats/classes and a point buy based atribute list wich could include all kinds of things (lets say a curse that turns you into the oposite gender when splashed with cold water ;) ) D20 Besm & More (to WizO's: Errr, I hope I'm not breaking the CoC and I do, explain how much, It's been a while since I read it and usualy I go by this rule: Be carefull, discrete and hellpfull and you won't fall in disagreement with others, easier to memorize than some 2 page long document) Your thougts would be apreciated (ergh, Had intended to write a more inteligent post but I'm tired and a good discussion usualy helps the grey matter in my head ) |

#3AlzriusJul 05, 2003 10:58:20 | I see a fellow fan of catgirls in this first post. :D D&D already has that though (which means PS does, since PS can be anything from D&D). You can have rakasta from Mystara, or tabaxi (the ones from the 2E Monstrous Manual, which looked like cat-people), or, if you don't mind the four paws, wemics (anyone remember Tastashera from A Player's Primer to the Outlands track for Faunel?), or perhaps a feline lycanthrope, or one of the sentient (but otherwise normal animal) felines from the Beastlands. D&D does not lack for cute kitties. Slightly more seriously though, I don't see the example you posted as being fitting for Sigil. Sigil has always struck me as a place where, despite being able to call kip, you'd be an idiot to be completely at ease when not in your own home (and maybe not even then). Such a cute, happy-go-lucky type scene feels off-kilter to me. Likewise, any poor fool who falls in Jusenkyo can get that cured in ten minutes with a donation to a local temple for a Remove Curse spell. I'm not saying it couldn't be done (especially since I do like, and play BESM (even before it was d20) and I haven't seen BESM d20 yet), but I just don't see it as meshing too well with PS. By the way, did you know that in less than a week, there will be a BESM d20 SRD out? It's true! All the crunchy parts of BESM d20 for free use for anyone to use!
