Besides the obvious choices of deities representing luck and prosperity in conducting his chosen field of expertise, is there a specific god that a rogue would worship?. |

Good rogues would probably favor Branchala, patron of bards and a god with a bit of a roguish streak (and Krynn's only CG deity). Neutral rogues might favor Lunitari, one of the magic gods but also known for her favor of illusion and tricksters, or Sirrion the passionate and chaotic. Matthew L. Martin |

If you are not a worshipping class (cleric, and in some settings druids or paladin), then what stops you from revering any and all the gods equally, in rotation, or whatever. If you enter a sick person's help, maybe a word to Morgion to spare you, when you entering battle, a word to Kiri-Jolith, trapped in a burning building, say a word to Sirrion as you look for the exit. Dwarves may limit themselves to Reorx, and obviously a cleric would limit himself to his patron, but anyone else is free to rotate his worship freely. |

In the Bahkti Marga of Hinduism you have a patron deity that you are supposed to devote your life and the patron deity often times relates to one's profession or place in society....however, even if your patron is Krisna you may still pray to Ganesh to remove obstacles from your life. Many practitioners of Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism choose a patron bodhisattva and in neo-paganism you are expected to respect all the gods, but practioners often times still have a "favorite" god or goddess. It's not all that unusual to have a patron deity, but it shouldn't be at the expense of the other gods when the situation falls under their domain. |
