#1zombiegleemaxJul 20, 2003 13:45:56 | Hello In the DLCS book, pg 45, it has Lunitari's alignment as Lawful Neutral, however on pg 127, it has Lunitari's alignment as Neutral. Which should it be? |
#2zombiegleemaxJul 20, 2003 13:54:36 | I think this a judgment call on behalf of the DM, however, I would use Lunitari as Neutral, mainly because it seems that the Red Robe Wizards fall under all forms of neutrality, and it is common knowledge that they draw their power from her magic. |
#3zombiegleemaxJul 20, 2003 14:04:26 | I'd say Lawful Neutral, since the other two gods of magic are also lawful and their whole Order leans that way (even if Lunitari may be the least lawful by a shade of the three). The 'neutral' is likely a holdover to the old days where all the neutral gods were listed merely as that... |
#4jonesyJul 20, 2003 14:11:42 | Yup. It makes a whole lot more sense to list all three as lawful. |
#5talinthasJul 20, 2003 15:11:04 | see, i wanted soli to be LG, nui to be NE, and luin to be CN, cause it fits the style of the magics more, imo. of course, i also have tak as CE =) in the long run, it doesnt matter all that much =) |
#6zombiegleemaxJul 20, 2003 17:21:28 | They did their alignments correct IMO. The WoHS are ALL about order and structure. They are very much into the lawful and the WoHS are based upon their gods. Namely the 3 siblings. |
#7talinthasJul 20, 2003 17:29:55 | oh, i'm not disagreeing that the whole solid lawfulness fits, but its just not what i want in my game =) |
#8zombiegleemaxJul 20, 2003 21:21:21 | talinthas said - see, i wanted soli to be LG, nui to be NE, and luin to be CN, cause it fits the style of the magics more, imo. While I prefer the lawfulness aspects of these gods, I must say that your suggestion has some interesting possibilities. I will want to explore this in a later campaign. Have you changed anything else about them?. |
#9talinthasJul 20, 2003 21:40:45 | Well, look at the orders. When whites find renegades, they ask them to lawfully return. Neutrals prefer to mess with them, and blacks just kill them outright. The white robes always act for society, the blacks for themselves, and the reds for whatever they want. Like Fisty says, draw from both, beholden to none. I mean, lunitari is all about illusion magic. I figure the orders are split on more than just the good-evil spectrum. It just makes sense to me to have the neutral also be the most chaotic. They have no urge to serve themselves exclusively, but they arent going to go out of their way to help people in need, ya know? I'm tossing around an idea to have the moons affect more than your bonuses, but have law-chaos effects as well. Like soli in high sanction makes white robes allow to maximize one die in a spell, luni allowing rerolls, and nui allowing higher save dcs or something. |
#10zombiegleemaxJul 21, 2003 1:51:15 | It certainly adds a new level of complexity to the whole system. I really like this idea, especially about having the moons effect more than just a wizard's bonuses. I like the suggestions also. Lunitari allowing rerolls adds into the whole neutral, chaotic paradigm, nothing is ever set. Nuitari seems to allow the stronger spells, with regards to DC's and such. Although when I come to Solinari - your suggestion for maximize one die in a spell - I have trouble seeing as fitting in with what Solinari represents. Perhaps an example is in order?. What I mean is Solinari has never been about power, perhaps something that better equates with the white robe philosophy of goodness would be more appropriate. Although I really do not know what that is at this time, but I will think about it. |
