#1zombiegleemaxJul 20, 2003 13:50:43 | Just a question for those with the DLCS... Does the DLCS tell what creatures in the MM are excluded from DL? I know lycanthropes do not exist, and orcs do not either. I also heard the some forms of giants do not exist, and beholders do not. Part of my question is that are some of these creatures listed here found in DL, according to the DLCS? And if so, which ones? Your aid is greatly appreciated. |
#2jonesyJul 20, 2003 13:56:12 | Beholders have appeared several times in DL, but they are not native to Krynn. |

#4talinthasJul 20, 2003 14:21:38 | mainly cause MM titans are good, and DL titans are evil =) |
#5cam_banksJul 20, 2003 15:06:32 | Further information on how to incorporate existing D&D monsters into your campaign, as well as guidelines for using them as NPCs and fleshing them out more fully, will be included in the Bestiary of Krynn. In the meantime, however, kgmiller's summary should tell you what you need to know. Cheers, Cam |
#6sweetmeatsJul 20, 2003 15:17:31 | Originally posted by kgmiller I don't have a problem with Drider (they don't have to have a drow/dark elf origin, they can be something else), Mind Flayers or Titans. Lycanthropes (if you wished to use thm on Krynn - I don't) could exist but are only affected by their alignment's moon phase. Interesting twist. |
#7talinthasJul 20, 2003 15:48:50 | Mind Flayers are already on krynn, albiet without psionics. They're called Yaggol =) Of course, in my game, they've discovered that sorcery/mysticism can emulate their lost powers, thus leading to their resurgance in taladas =) |
#8zombiegleemaxJul 20, 2003 21:17:20 | Is there any 2e primary source of information on the Yaggol?. |
#9talinthasJul 20, 2003 21:31:49 | time of the dragon box set. |
#10DragonhelmJul 20, 2003 22:22:13 | Also try the DL Monstrous Compendium. |
#11zombiegleemaxJul 21, 2003 1:54:04 | Which one?. Volume one or volume two?. |
#12DragonhelmJul 21, 2003 9:26:43 | Originally posted by Bookwyrm There was only one Dragonlance Monstrous Compendium (not to be confused with the Bestiary, or the upcoming Bestiary of Krynn). It was volume two in the overall monstrous compendium series, and had a 3-ring binder with it. |
#13zombiegleemaxJul 21, 2003 9:55:44 | Whoops !. Sorry I got confused with the books I had in front of me at the time of posting. ;) |
