I have been thinking about buying this old supplement. Can anyone tell me about it, whether it is any good, and basically, what use it will be in a campaign?.

Also, is it mostly fluff, or are there stats in this book as well?.

do you play saga?
if so, its useful.

but it also has a great approximation of the test of high sorcery.
and one of the best sessions i ran came from the adventure in that box =)

Aside from the Bestiary it is my favorite SAGA product.

There is some good history in there of the Towers of High Sorcery with much more specifics to the Tower of Wayreth. It also, as Tal said, has a good outline on how to run a Test.

Pros: It will be useful even if you don't play SAGA. Lots of details about the towers, Conclave, Test, sorcery, etc. Nice condensation of previously scattered material. Good magic item listing (but in SAGA of course), reasonably good adventure with plenty of hooks.

Cons: if you don't care about SAGA in the least, you'll have plenty of work ahead of you converting some parts. It still doesn't explain renegades in sufficient detail IMHO.

Plus, the largest part of the book was converting AD&D magical items into SAGA format. Since we have the same magical items in the D&D 3e player's handbook, you don't need to get them from there.

I'd have to say "The Last Tower: The Legacy of Raistlin" is worth about $5. You'll feel ripped off if you pay any more than that.

Thanks for the information peoples.

I am glad about the 'condensation of previously scattered material', as Richard Connery stated. The Towers, and the Conclave, the Test, and Sorcery in general are some of my favorite aspects about DL.

To conclude, yes I play SAGA, but not all the time.

And I am paying $10 for this supplement, but that is in Australian tender...
