I think we're gonna have to wait until after everyone gets back from Gen Con. But, yeah, I'm interested to see the reviews.

UNfortunately, Sovereign Press did not have the Age of Mortals in by Friday (the only day I was able to go). THey DID have plenty of of the Campaign Setting. Ms. Weis was autographing every copy she caught a glimpse of.

Did anyone get a copy of Age of Mortals Saturday or Sunday?

On the En World message boards, Joe Knusher mentions seeing Age of Mortals there...

Hi, guys. I'm back from GenCon and dead beat. More on GenCon later.

Age of Mortals was held up, but Jamie saved the day with a special trip to Chicago to pick up 31 boxes of the book. There were copies for sale on Saturday.

So, for those who got Age of Mortals, what do you think?

I picked up AoM but I haven't gotten the chance to flip through it yet as I am still going through DLCS. I think it will be a while before I get to it, but I'm looking forward to reading it.

I've only had a chance to casually flip through it since picking it up (gencon beats you to death) but it looks pretty good. Lots of new stuff including, prestige classes, magic, race info, geography info with some stronghold details. Stuff about the gods. If anyone has an specific questions, I can look stuff up.

I just got into work and back from Gen Con yesterday. I would love to tell you my impression of the the AoM, First however I would like to start with this. After buying these books first thing saturday morning I was taken back at how nice and polite the soverign booth was. everyone there was wonderful. Wonderful enough that when me and some friends were eating lunch and two people from the booth were eating lunch next to us, they actually stopped over at our table and thanked us for buying the dragon lance books and told us how much they appreciated this. *sniff* I got all misty eyed.

Now for the good stuff. AoM is a excellent book. The information contained in here details everything in Krynn during this time greatly. Some shocks are in there and you will find yourself saying... AH thats what happened.

The classes presented in this book are great as well. The mariner is the same from Soverign stones other campaign. Also the kender Nightstalker class (i belive thats its name) is very very interesting. The additional mage prestige classes are my favorite especially the war mage.

I am just giving a brief over view to this book. Over all i would give it a 9 or 9.5 outta 10, not a 10 cuz such perfection would mean this book would talk to me and tell me the secret of life. It comes close though. Also I am at work and am typing this as fast as I can..as to not get in trouble. If you have any sepcific questions ask I have the book right here with me. Sorry for the bad grammer and typos.

the book is 223 pages. no index

Here is a list of chapters.

Chaper one is on Race and classes of the fifth age.

Here we see write up on Tarmak(brutes), dwarves, elves, gnome, kender, and yes, half kender, centaur, draconians, ogres, and minotaurs. The new choices have complete write up, where as the old repeated ones from DLCS, they just get more flavor text and an example character.

Mariner is the only new class. PrCs include Academy Sorcerer, Citadel Mystic, Kender nightstalker, Legion mystic, Legion scout, Legion sorcerer, Master ambassador, Nomad Shaman, Rogue knight, Solamnic Auxiliary Mage, Spellflich, War mage

New feats are Alternate form, charming, discipline, education, haggler, heroic surge, horned stampede (I'm sure you know who this is for), improved taunt, lucky, mimic, quick-thinking, sharp-eyeed, spellcasting prodigy(kinda of annoying to find this one here, since this is the FR feat I ban), street smart, stubborn, trustworthy.

Chapter two deals with all things magic, has new spells, the new mystic domain, magic items, artifacts, and yes, full stats for Palin, as well as Sword of Tears (Richard Knnak's favorite item he created, may make guest appearance in his next book)

Chapter three covers the history, geography, governement, etc in the fifth age.

Chapter four, we see a list of cities and stronghold. no, I'm not going to list every city suffice to say that this chapter is a BIG part of the book page count.

Chapter five is on gods and relgions, here we have the write up on the gods as of the fifth age. and my favorite, write up on Goldmoon, and yes, full stat on Mina on page 196.

Chapter six is a list of new monsters and updated dragons

I don't think so, if there is, I missed it.

The DLCS briefly mentions Taladas and "Other Lands" in the opening chapter.

'Eh? What's a Rogue Knight? I'm guessing a deserter or something like that? That's the only one that gets me.

you are on the right track, a rogue knight is a former member of one of the knightly orders who have broken the scared vow.

Dhamon Grimwulf is a great example of this.

What is the Alternate Form feat? And Mimic? They sound like Irda type feats, but I was under the impression the Irda are extinct in the 5th Age.

That sword was in the Legend of Huma, correct?

They're not extinct. Close, but not quite.

alternate form: allow you to assume a single specific alternate humanoid or animal form of medium size or smaller once per day, it functions as a polymorph spell casted on yourself and your caster level, except you do not regain hit points for changing form. The requiremens are: dragon(adult age or older), and caster level 5th.

mimic: natural talent for impersonation, +2 competence bonus on disguise and perform checks.

as for Irda, no, it's a playable race.

Everyone involved in Dragonlance were extremely personable and willing to answer all the questions they could. It was great to finally be able to put a face to all those names I had seen floating about.

I expressed my gratitude then, and I will again...Sovereign Press and Whitestone Council has done a wonderful job keeping Dragonlance alive and ressurecting it in 3rd edition. Keep up the great work everybody!

All of the original members of the Legion of Steel would be Rogue Knights.

Dhamon Grimwulf is a Rogue Knight.

And...not that anyone cares, but Arek Brimstone and his best friend Helm are Rogue Knights, too.

Draconians creature type is dragon, does this mean that an adult draconian of at least a 5th caster level (through class levels or through innate caster levels) can take this feat!?! *blinks*

Only dragons with "Age Categories" can use this feat. Draconians do not have Age Categories. ;)
