#1zombiegleemaxJul 27, 2003 0:16:33 | The unknown expanse of the vast continent of Oerik... Of the uncharted lands of Oerik outside the Flanaess, what have you defined in your Greyhawk games? Do forgotten Olman pyramids(akin to South American civilization) rest further South in the Amedio or Hepmonaland jungles? What is beyond the Dry Steppes to the West? What is West of the Sea of Dust? Have any of you detailed other continents on the world of Oerth, aside from Oerik? What do the folk of the Flanaess know of the lands beyond? |

#3zombiegleemaxJul 28, 2003 10:00:22 | You are correct, but it didn't seem to include some features that I had heard of. Maybe it's just incomplete. I'm not sure. This link, which Gnarley Woodsman provided in another post has some interesting ideas about the world beyond the Flanaess. |

#7AeoliusJul 31, 2003 9:31:49 | Originally posted by Jagermeister I started working on BPAA late in 1997, though the game itself didn't begin until early 1998. At the time, I was also running a second message-based game "Into the Land of Black Ice" (where the LoBI in lobi.com came from), and an impromptu chat-based game, "Penance of the Damned", where the PCs began as larvae in Hades and worked their way up. Both games were run on AOL, though LoBI eventually migrated to TSR's first attempt at a web-board before I created my own website for the campaign. LoBI fell apart, due to intra-party conflicts, and PoD slowly dissolved as my offline schedule became more chaotic. I am working on a new chat-based game concept set in the Suss Forest, where the PCs will begin as small forest animals. More on "Nature of the Beast" here: http://www.lobi.com/nob/ I am also working on an underwater mega-adventure, which will involve the Jungle of Lost Ships, Turucambi, and the Sinking Isle. |
#8Gnarley_WoodsmanJul 31, 2003 16:04:01 | I've run a "Adventures of Sinbad" style game that has taken my adventurous crew all the way to Fireland on a second expidition that lasted over a year. All I have to say is Giant Sea Serpents, and A kingdom of Fire Salamanders attempting to conquer the distant continent sized islands! It brings back many fond memories memories. Also there is acollection of tidbits if your interested. The Chainmail game takes place in unknown western portion of Oerik. Several kingdoms and political entities are described briefly therin. |
#9tharkos_dupJul 31, 2003 16:47:58 | For myself I determined that the coastline on the west side of the continent was looking rather similar to the one for Tolkiens Middle Earth in the 3rd / 4th age .... Should have a big desert but also "wild civilizations" inbetween from which Sauron took his minions. A journey over there would be hazardous to say the least! |
