#2zombiegleemaxAug 02, 2003 20:22:20 | I use more or less the core settings, the boards, and some stuff I got from the black box stuff they have on Kargatane. I'm broke. Oh! and VR's guides are excellent.:D |
#3zombiegleemaxAug 06, 2003 0:47:08 | Anyone here use the new Ravenloft DMG? I've heard mixed opinions on it, and haven't had a chance to peruse a copy myself. |
#4zombiegleemaxAug 06, 2003 8:40:12 | Well I think the S&S campaign setting for Ravenloft is pretty good, A combination of that one, the secrets of the dread realms, and the old 2edition domains of dread camp. sett. (for reference) is enough for me. I haven't seen the new Ravenloft DMG, what type of information is in it? |
#5zombiegleemaxAug 06, 2003 13:08:06 | I saw it, but I didn't have time to peruse it. I hear a lot of the info is just compiled from other sources. May invest in it eventually though |
#6zombiegleemaxAug 06, 2003 15:19:01 | The DMG is nothing short of awesome. I find it very useful if you're DMing as it has a wealth of information discussing achieving that Gothic atmosphere, it includes information on hiding the mechanics in combat and focusing on description, it includes info on prophesy as well as new info on Sinkholes of Evil. It is certainly not rules heavy, more of a great read and a good resource if you need inspiration. I'm not sure which I enjoy more, the Campaigin Sourcebook, or the DMG. Either way, In my opinion, it is worth the money. |
