Hi!

I'm going to continue my campaign next weekend with some players wanting to play KoS. The pity is that I won't be able to get my copy of the DLCS till then.... because here in Germany it will be out in september...

Could anyone post all the KOS Prestige Classes ? PLEASE !!!

... I know of the Knight of the Crown which can be found on wizards.com but what exactly is the Squire PrCL ? And what are the benefits of Sword and Rose Knights ?

thx

Before one can become a Knight of the Crown, he must serve as a Squire of Crown. This isn't a PrC. It's just a title that one can use for whichever class he is prior to becoming a Crown Knight. Usually, this is fighter.

Unless you plan on advancing levels quickly, I'd recommend using the Crown Knight from the WotC site until you get the DLCS. You have to gain a few levels of Crown Knight before becoming a Sword Knight anyway.

Hope that helps.

Other Knight of the Crown class requirements are as follows:

Alignment: Lawful Good
Base Attack Bonus: +3
Base Save Bonus: Fort +4
Skills: Diplomacy 2 ranks, Knowledge (religion) 2 ranks, Ride 2 ranks
Feats: Armor Prof. (Heavy), Honorbound, Martial Weapon Prof. (any), Shield Prof.

Class Skills are as follows:
Craft (Int)
Diplomacy (Cha)
Intimiidate (Cha)
Knowledge (religion) (Int)
Profession (Wis)
Ride (Dex)
A Knight of the Crown gains 2 skill points each level + Int modifier

On a side note, I personally don't like playing KoS's. The lawful good alignment is too much of a restriction for me. I'd much rather play as a Legion of Steel character.

thank you very much ! i really appreciate it !

the point is that our campaign is already on the run a quite long time and two of the characters actually died. I don't want them to start back at first level when the rest of the group is 6th level or even higher.
so, at which lvl. is a crown knight allowed to become a knight of the sword...I heard that he must have one divine casting class in his repertoire, is that right ?

Yes, to become a Knight of the Sword, the character must have 1 level in Knight of the Crown and be able to cast 1st level divine spells.

Other Knight of the Sword class requirements are as follows:

Alignment: Lawful Good
Base Attack Bonus: +6
Base Save Bonus: Will +4
Skills: Knowledge (nobility and royalty) 2 ranks, Knowledge (religion) 4 ranks, Ride 4 ranks
Feats: Diehard, Endurance, Honor-bound

Also, HD for Knight of the Crown and Sword are d10 and d8 respectively.

Knight of the Rose class requirements are as follows:

Alignment: Lawful Good
Base Attack Bonus: +8
Base Save Bonus: Will +7
Skills: Diplomacy 8 ranks, Knowledge (nobility and royalty) 8 ranks, Ride 8 ranks
Feets: Endurance, Honor-bound, Leadership, Mounted Combat
Spellcasting: Ability to cast 2nd level divine spells

A Knight of the Rose must have at least 1 level in Knight of the Crown and 3 levels in Knight of the Sword.

Hit die for Knights of the Rose is d10.

Hope all this helps you.

It breaks the guidelines of 3e to demand class levels to qualify for a prestige class. I noticed this as well is the case for the Wizards of High Sorcery, who demand levels in specialist wizard.

The specialist wizard thing confuses me, because even if you would have had to leave the WoHS open to socerers and bards, what's wrong with that? I mean, sorcerers and bards could find being in the WoHS handy.

Age of Mortals has a sidebar on "generalist wizards". Basically, you don't have to be specialized, but you don't get the enhanced specialization benefits.

Wizards take their magic from High Sorcery, sorcerers and bards take theirs from Wild Sorcery (primal sorcery).

If a DM wanted to have all arcane spellcasters gain their powers from the moons, then I don't see a problem with sorcerers and bards joining.

I doubt we'll know the future of arcane magic in Krynn until Wizard's Conclave.

Ok, I have to ask. I plan opn having a Knight of the Sword. To qualify should I start out as a Cleric?

After Cleric I would enter the Crown then into Sword. Is this right?

It may take you a while. A better plan, believe it or not, is to have a level of cleric in there somewhere while you advance as a fighter, pick up the Crown Knight PrC, and then the Sword Knight PrC. One level of cleric is all you need, and from that point on you'll get clerical spell progression.

Cheers,
Cam
