#1zombiegleemaxAug 13, 2003 19:01:12 | Has anyone attempted to stat the major characters from the books? If so what classes do you think they would have had? Just a guess but I'd go with the following for the original characters (at the Inn of the Last Home): Tanis (5th Ranger) Sturm (4th Fighter) Caramon (4th Fighter) Raistlin (3rd Wizard/1st WoHS) Tasslehoff (5th Rogue) Flint (5th Fighter or 4th Fighter/1st Ranger) Riverwind (2nd Ranger/2nd Fighter) Goldmoon (5th Cleric of Mishakal) Just a personal guess, anyone else? any other characters? #3zombiegleemaxAug 13, 2003 20:18:10 | hmmm, I had forgotten about the noble class. A plainsfolk noble is a very interesting combination since they are nearly always asscociated with more 'civillised' cultures. I like the idea. As for Riverwind it was the rage ability that threw me (Maybe Tanis should have a level of barbarian ). How about: Laurana (2nd noble) Gilthanis (1st noble/1st fighter/5th Wizard) Steel Brightblade (3rd Fighter/3rd Knight of the Lily) Arandur |
#4cam_banksAug 13, 2003 22:34:28 | I have them all written up as 5th level characters ready to play through the original modules. Some of them were 6th level in AD&D (such as Sturm and Caramon), others were 4th (Flint and Tas) or even 3rd (Raistlin) but I felt having the party be composed of equal-level characters was more in line with the current rules. I'll be posting these on the Nexus at some point in the near future. Cheers, Cam |

#6harakiri_battosaiAug 14, 2003 0:54:50 | I'm starting up the original modules tomorrow night and I think the chars panned out as 5th and 6th level. I should have probably reined back the 6ths but i figured it wouldn't hurt anything. Tanis (Ranger2/Fighter3) - I wanted to keep him a fighter but I couldnt help but give into the urge for woodsiness Sturm (Fighter 6) Raist (Wizard 3/WoHS 2) I really almost cheated and gave him a level of War Mage, but I realized that it was thoroughly useless to him since he has no charisma modifier. Caramon (Fighter 6) DUH. Goldmoon (Noble 1/Cleric 4) I wanted to at least open up the avenue for using Noble stuff. Tas doesn't get stats because then people woudl make me roll them since I kept him back as an NPC along with.... Flint (Expert 3/Fighter 4) Slightly more experienced than the others but alot of it is as a craftsman rather than a warrior, so i figured it evened out. Riverwind (Ranger 5) I looked at Barbarian but it just didnt seem right. Gilthanas (Noble 2/Wizard 3) I have a question here. Did Gil just dabble or did he join the orders or was he just a renegade? I haven't read everything in a while but i don't remember it ever referring to him as a member of any order, or the subject coming up. |
