I was thinking about the differences between the dark knights before the arrival of Chaos and the dark knights after the defeat of Chaos and stumbled into something I haven't noticed being mentioned.

What about the Chaos War? Which sourcebook is going to contain information on it? The War of the Lance? I know it was a relatively short period of time in Krynnish history, but it was also one of the most important and cool moments, and I would like to see it covered in detail, much much detail.

Have to agree with ya there Jonesy, the Chaos War seems to be one of the overlooked points in the history of Krynn which is a shame because it's one of the few points where the people of Ansalon have such a unified front. My DLCS campaign is set during the Chaos War period, mostly becasue my PCs wanted to playe their old characters children and the like...

IS that Seeds of Chaos Tal?(or whatever it was called), a SAGA system module wasn't it. I recall something about defending Palanthus or Solanthus or some large city.

The SAGA system had some really great modules (I think there was three of them in total)

edit: Must have been four then, Seeds of Chaos, Sylvan Veil, Chaos bleeds and the Ogre Titans one (can't recall the name)

I must dig out my SAGA stuff again...

That would be Seeds of Chaos and Chaos Spawn. Both of these were dual-system (AD&D and SAGA) modules.

Yeah those were great! I had both of them at one time, shame I never got to run them, they were some of the best modules I had ever seen, bar none. I even wrote a third chapter daling with the Battle of the Rift. But that was at the time when TSR/WotC were releasing those campaign ender adventures like "Die Vecana, Die!" and "The Dungeon of Death". If anyone remembers, these modules were meant to kill off whole parties to pave the way for brand new campaigns set in 3E. I got to thinking, hmmm....the Chaos War would do nicely to pave the way for a 3E Fifth Age campaign......And it did.:D The only party member to survive was a human, and by the time my campaign was taking place, that character had died of old age.

So, are we going to see it covered in War of the Lance?
(or are there plans for a sourcebook completely about the Chaos War?)

I think that the Chaos War has at least as much material as the war of the lance. They should be 2 different sourcebooks.
Chaos took lots of forms, created lots of creatures to fight with him, it gives u lots of info and ideas if one wants to. even impossible stuff can happen (I remember a short story where Chaos sent some sailors to an alternative future. the "What if the kingpriest gained the powers of the gods instead of being killed by them and creating the cataclysm").

I'm all for a Chaos war sourcebook, as long as it has one of those wicked lava dragons on the cover.
