#1zombiegleemaxAug 21, 2003 21:53:12 | Well, I picked up my copy at my local gaming store yesterday, and I must say to all those who contributed......Very Awesome!!!! The book is just as informative as the SAGA products, it's stylistically pleasing, and it is very easy to see why so many who worked on it called it a labor of love. Just leafing through the pages makes it obvious that this book was created for DL fans by DL fans. The DLCS was certainly worth the wait.:D :D :D :D :D :D |
#2talinthasAug 21, 2003 21:56:27 | finally, other people have it, so i can have discussions =) |
#3zombiegleemaxAug 21, 2003 22:01:08 | Yeah.....problem is that my local store owner himself said that it wasn't supposed to be on the shelves, but I couldnt help myself....it was there, so I grabbed it and forked over my $40 before he could change his mind. But seeing as how its officially out in about 2 hours, I dont think its too much a problem. |
#4zombiegleemaxAug 21, 2003 22:07:10 | ARGH! The WalMart site is calling to me. I want to order it, but I'm moving tomorrow! TOMORROW...! Must resist urges. Must...! BLAST! |
#5randpcAug 21, 2003 23:23:18 | Once I get off work tomorrow I'll be picking it up ASAP. |
#6zombiegleemaxAug 21, 2003 23:59:02 | I pre ordered it off of amazon.ca and the estimated deliverey date is November. I really hope they screwed that up or I am gonna cry ! |
#7zombiegleemaxAug 22, 2003 8:07:37 | Lucky you! Mine is due in March... |

#9zombiegleemaxAug 22, 2003 12:16:43 | Grrrrrr it still says on amazon that this item has not yet been released. I may as well just cancel it and go buy it a local comic shop |
#10zombiegleemaxAug 22, 2003 17:55:07 | Originally posted by Insta_AxE_Toast That would be a good plan seeing as to you could get it in minutes as opposed to at least another day of waiting |
#11zombiegleemaxAug 22, 2003 18:08:17 | It is also 20 bucks cheaper on amazon ;) |
#12zombiegleemaxAug 22, 2003 18:10:34 | Originally posted by Insta_AxE_Toast Same situation here. According to Amazon, I have an expected delivery date of April 2004. I'm guessing (and hoping) that this is wrong, but who knows. I already went to the stores in town today, and nobody has it. Guess I'll be leaving my order unless I come across it first. |
#13rosishaAug 22, 2003 18:19:51 | See, I also ordered off of Amazon, and they said Sept 12th for delivery, "four days after release date." now if the release date is today, technically speaking I should get it in a few days right? I'm going to call and ask. The date is today (Aug 23rd) for release right? Rosisha |
#14zombiegleemaxAug 22, 2003 18:22:28 | Today is the 22nd silly. Post on what they said about the release date. |
#15rosishaAug 22, 2003 18:27:48 | Whoops! I'm a moron! i've been reversing two's and three's all day! UGH! Sorry bout that. Seriously though, why is amazon giving such radically different dates to people?! EDIT: Ok I just decided to go do some sleuthing on the Amazon webpage and they said that the SHIPPING date is Sept 8th. For a large variety of reasons, but they don't make sense. Now I could be COMPLETELY wrong here, but I thought Amazon would simply place the order for the books they need to the publisher (i.e. send us 100000 copies of "Blah") who would then publish that and send them to Amazon who would pack them up and ship them out to whoever ordered them. All of the ordering should have been done before the release date (as I did a preorder to get it as soon as it comes out! deal thingy), so is Amazon just low on the list of people to ship the books too or are they just really slow in their shipping department? I checked my local gaming store, they aren't going to carry DLCS until October. Dumb game store people. The next nearest one of any quality (and i'm not boycotting) is about an hour and a half away from me and my car died Everyone remember to pray for my poor car. His name is Zen! Rosisha |
#16zombiegleemaxAug 22, 2003 18:31:15 | Lord knows why, I am going to buy it at a local shop for 59 cnd + gst. Where I could have gotten it for 39 + gst off of amazon.ca |
#17bansheeAug 23, 2003 16:38:47 | I ordered the book from Amazon.ca, and having read these forums, I checked, and delivery date was stated as November 22 or something. I wrote them, as that seems way too long, and clarified things. The response they sent is below: "Thank you for writing to us at Amazon.ca. I apologize for any misunderstanding about the delivery estimate for your order. We rely on the publisher for release date information. Our most recent information was that "Dragonlance Campaign Setting" is not yet released. Once this item has been released and we receive copies, we will be able to ship it to you. It is not uncommon for there to be a delay of several weeks between the release and distribution of a new publication. When your order is shipped, you should receive an e-mail message confirming the date, contents, and method of your shipment. As per our standard policy, we do not charge you for items until they enter the shipping process, so you will not be charged for this item until it is available and we have shipped it to you. Thanks for shopping at Amazon.ca." It appears that it won't be November....it's probably just faulty info in the database....it's just not going to ship right away. I can't see them being that much worse than Chapters, and once the release date comes around, Chapters tends to start shipping product pretty quickly. In any case, I went down and flipped through it at the store, and I can wait. I'm excited, as the book looks cool.....but it's $20 less at Amazon. That money I'm using to buy another RPG book.....so it's worth waiting Banshee |
