#2brimstoneAug 26, 2003 15:55:33 | Huh? |
#3zombiegleemaxAug 26, 2003 16:03:45 | Originally posted by Brimstone My thought's exactly... |
#4zombiegleemaxAug 26, 2003 16:27:59 | ... Could you rephrase that plz? |
#5zombiegleemaxAug 26, 2003 16:49:27 | I believe he is trying to say he would like to see some two-part novels written, in which the story begins in Krynn and ends in Faerun. |
#6zombiegleemaxAug 26, 2003 17:26:04 | that's exactly what he's saying, and can you imagine the possibilities (and the headaches)? actually, there are a couple series out there that do incorporate both settings. can't remember the names... |
#7brimstoneAug 26, 2003 17:40:10 | Originally posted by Blag the Ripper Hmm...well there is one series of books that does that. Fistandantilus Reborn and Tymora's Luck are two in that series. I think there's a third book too. Are you saying there should be more of these? It might be kinda difficult these days...what with the new "rule" that all spheres are cut off from one another, and each one has it's own cosmology. Of course one can ignore all that if they want, but I wonder if WotC would be willing to go against their own new set rule. I guessing probably not. Aside from that...I'm not sure how popular it was the first time they did it. |
#8zombiegleemaxAug 26, 2003 17:50:33 | no. kinda like a team up charectors from forgotten realms and charectors from dragonlance meeting one another and fighting . kinda like in the comics. |
#9zombiegleemaxAug 26, 2003 17:57:24 | Raist99, quite a while ago now there used to be short stories in the Dragon magazine that were about the Wizards of the AD&D worlds meeting for some sort of discussions (about magic). I recall that there was one such meeting between Elminster, Dalamar and I think Mordenkainen or possibly Khelben Blackstaff (it was a while back and my memory is getting foggy...) That is the only crossover that I know of (besides the Spelljammer, Planescape or Ravenloft novels that begin in a certain world and move off from there... Arandur |
#10zombiegleemaxAug 26, 2003 21:43:38 | I would like to see a future setting of ravenloft . |
#11zombiegleemaxAug 26, 2003 23:57:14 | if anyone hasnt read "fistandantilus reborn" dont bother, it is slow, boring, and in the end accomplishes nothing. it was as if someone was given the okay to write the book but could not alter or update anyting in the DL saga. it was a closed story. |
#12GranakrsAug 27, 2003 4:49:23 | Originally posted by raistlin99 Actually, i had a completely different interpretation. I though he was saying that you should split a dragonlance book, into two books. book 1 and book 2, i.e. what WotC is currently doing to the Chronicles to appeal to a younger demographic. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=products/dlnovel/860400000 Granak Red-Silver Sivak |
#13talinthasAug 27, 2003 5:01:50 | offtopic- ((BTW, granak, aren't you up rather late? ;) Seriously though, you should try to make a trip up to davis sometime, play in my DL game =) )) |
#14shugiAug 27, 2003 10:13:13 | Originally posted by Arandur It was indeed Elminster, Mordenkainen, and Dalamar. They only had 3-4 of these meetings before Dalamar "disappeared" (due to the Chaos War). Raistlin actually showed up in one as well, but I don't remember the issue #. |
#15zombiegleemaxAug 27, 2003 14:49:43 | i would like to see more call of cathull stuff mixed in with tsr. |
#16zombiegleemaxAug 27, 2003 14:57:01 | *blinks* My god man!! Enunciate!! I cant understand a blasted thing you are saying! Use complete sentences, finnish your thoughts. We cant read your mind! (well, some of us can, but not me) This is coming from a guy who often has problems comunicating himself due to ADD, If I can do it, so can you!! EDIT: There was supposed to be a sentence in there about how I have difficulty with the logical sequencing of my thoughts, but uhh, its here at the end instead. =) |
#17zombiegleemaxAug 27, 2003 15:59:31 | Originally posted by Brimstone Yep, Finder's bane is the first, then Fistandantilus reborn, and closing with Tymora luck. I think it was called "the lost gods trilogy" or something. |
#18gerrinAug 27, 2003 16:30:01 | You have got to be joking. Having characters in Forgotten Realms taking on characters from Dragonlance. What is this? What would the plot be. Uh...hey guys look at them lets go kick there butts. As far as I am concerned Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms should have little or no contact. They are two seperate gaming worlds with enough adventure to keep books going. (Sidenote: Even though it seems like dragonlance is getting a little bit redundant with a major war every other day.) |
