#1zombiegleemaxAug 28, 2003 15:51:37 | I'd hate to ask but is there any place where a DM could go to get some story ideas (for DS specifically if possible)? I am starting to reach a wall and want to get my brain moving again. |
#2zombiegleemaxAug 28, 2003 17:49:00 | been quite alot of threads with campaign suggestions on this (especially the old) board, but I guess they're scattered all over the place. But a few one had headlines such as "how do you like this for a campaign introduction" etc. |

The easiest thing I've found to come up with new adventures is to take a look back at what the players have already gone through. Who have they interacted with and what kinds of adventures have they already gone on. For example, if the PCs once met a elven trader at a market to aquire some spell components from a few adventures ago, I would take that otherwise non descript generic NPC and try and build him into a new adventure. By fleshing the elf out, I can get ideas for the next adventure. |

The group consists of One Mul Gladiator, One Human Preserver, One Human Earth Cleric, and One Human Barbarian. The Preserver has finally joined the Veilled Alliance. I ran them just recently through that old module Forest Maker I believe it's called. As it stands the timeline is after Kalak is dead but before they kill the dragon. I had them go through the War with Urik. THey were stuck in that city hiding out with the Veilled alliance. Then they entered into the Forest Maker Module. I'd a relatively new campaign but lots of little things went on in Urik. I was just looking for help jogging the creative side of my mind. |

The barbarian is probably from an outside village, far away from the city of Tyr. The earth cleric is probably from outside a city as well since clerics probably would not be too welcomed in a city-state (minor threat to the SK power). Veilled Alliance would draw much of the preservers time and eventually, the preserver will have to leave the group or the group will also have to join the Alliance. If the group knows that the preserver joined the Alliance, they are a liability and they will have to chose, "with us or against us". Here are some ideas based on the PCs The barbarian is drawn back to his tribe due to tribal politics. The cleric gains followers who want to build a temple to earth. Slavers from a noble household come looking for the gladiator. They want to capture him alive so he can fight for the house (they would also want the barbarian too). |
