#1kalanthAug 28, 2003 17:44:12 | This is my home grown version of a Krynnish Bladesinger, let me know what you all think. ____________________________________________________ Bladesinger Prestige Class (Krynnish) Background: Due to the virtual enslavement of Ansalon by the Dragon lords and more specifically the reign of Beryllinthranox over Qualinost, Gilthas decided there needed to be an Elite elven force to combat evil and protect all things elven. In this regard he turned to Salis Errefell; a powerful wizard also trained in the sword. He asked Salis to begin a school designed to mesh the art of the blade and the art of magic into one seamless form. Salis took this task to heart and his first pupil after the completion of the forms was his son Maliiar. Requirements: Base ATT bonus: +5 Race: Elf Feats: Combat Casting, Weapon Focus (the schools weapon), Still Spell Skills: Dancing (perform) 4 ranks, Spellcraft 5 ranks, Concentration 5 ranks, Intimidate 6 ranks Special: Must take the test of the tower before becoming a Bladesinger. Cannot be a wizard of high sorcery Class Features: Hit Die: D8 Class Skills: Concentration (wis), Intimidate (Cha/Str), Spellcraft (Int), Knowledge (Arcana) (Wis), Dance (perform) (Cha) Alignment: Good (any) Religion: Being good wizards who have taken the Test of the Tower they revere if not worship Solinari, some also worship the other good gods. Lvl Att Fort Ref Will Special 1 +1 +1 +2 +1 Bladesong, Blind-fighting, Moon Magic +1 casting level 2 +2 +1 +3 +1 +1 casting level 3 +3 +1 +3 +1 Bonus Feat 4 +4 +2 +4 +2 +1 casting level 5 +5 +2 +4 +2 +1 casting level 6 +6 +2 +5 +2 Bonus Feat 7 +7 +3 +5 +3 +1 casting level 8 +8 +3 +6 +3 9 +9 +3 +6 +3 Bonus Feat +1 casting level 10 +10 +4 +7 +4 Bladesong Mastery +1 casting level Bladesong Style: Starting at first level the Bladesinger gains the benefits of his style; which are a bonus +1 to hit and damage with his schools weapon. He also gains a bonus to his Armor class equal to half his Bladesinger level plus one (to a maximum of +6 at lvl 10) when fighting/casting defensively. This also gives him the benefit of being able to cast any spell that he could normally cast using the still spell feat while holding his schools weapon (ONLY his schools weapon), without actually raising the effective level of the spell (since somatic components are still involved… just using only one hand). Bladesong Mastery: At tenth level the Bladesinger has become a master of his form and gains an additional +1 to hit and damage with his schools weapon. He can also cast any spells available to him while holding his schools weapon. Bonus Feats: Bladesingers gain a bonus feat at 3rd, 6th, and 9th level. These can be any feat the Bladesinger qualifies for. Casting Level: The Bladesinger gains an effective casting level to his wizard class at the levels noted on the table above. Hindrances: The Bladesinger is powerful and has many benefits, but they do not come without a price. First off as soon as the Bladesinger class is taken the character is automatically considered to be proficient only with his schools weapon, and light armors; regardless of what weapon/armor proficiencies he had prior to obtaining the class. Second is less tangible but no less demanding. Not only must they attempt to advance the cause of Elvendom at all times, they must also lend aid to any elf in need. Unless the elf is proven to be an enemy of the Elven way of life, the Bladesinger must sacrifice life and limb to save that elf’s life. This applies to a lesser degree to half-elves (They are generally regarded as less than elves but are still at least part elf so most bladesingers will at least strive to help these poor souls at least to some degree, but more likely than not they will not risk life and limb as they would for full blooded elf). |
