#1kalanthAug 29, 2003 10:03:10 | I am looking for some new and interesting hom made magic items. The last DL campaign I ran, there was a total of three homemade magic items, which made up the five items they found all together. Unless it is a potion, I try to make em hard to find. However, I figured it would be interesting to see some items. |
#2kalanthAug 30, 2003 12:12:47 | BLADE OF COURAGE Useable by: Warriors, Paladins, Barbarians, Thieves, Rangers, and Bards This blade is 1,000 years ago and was created for the first noble member of the McKormick bloodline on the world of Narnia. It has been handed down from generation to generation during that time, until Sid Halcyon had finally removed it from the family line, after the final owner, Reilansa McKormick, was defeated. Sid had taken the blade as a trophy item of his group’s great victory over the powerful mercenary. Since the original owner lay dead, the sword was able to take a new owner, and so Sid became the proud wielder of the blade. A curse was place on him, however, and all that were to wield the blade after him as well other than the McKormick line. The spirits of the McKormick Ancestry haunted the new owner of the blade, and all living members of the family chased him down with the intent of his death and the reclamation of the blade. Though he was never killed by any of the McKormick’s, he was slain by a Sivak Draconian while he was attempting to save a small village from cave robbers. The rumors claim that the cave was abandoned by all living beings due to the strange cries of the dead that emanated from the sword. The sword itself is rumored to still be laying in the skeletal grasp of Sid Halcyon's long dead body, but no one has been willing to find this blade, and there are no living members of the McKormick bloodline. __________________________________________________________________ Physical Description: The finest dwarven metal smiths of Narnia crafted this short sword, with runes etched into the side telling the story of the McKormick family line. As a new chapter to the McKormick line would be written, another marking was magically added to the blade. The metal used for the sword is the purest silver, and magically reinforced so as to never break. The scabbard this sword rests in is hardened, black leather, the eyes of a Gold Dragon etched in gold on its side. __________________________________________________________________ -This weapon acts as a short sword +1 to any character with a charisma over 12.
