How do you distribute the points? add feats and skills if you really want =) ((this is for a pc i'm going to be running in a pbem soon, i'm just too lazy to bother trying to figure out point buy myself ;) )) |

#3talinthasSep 06, 2003 16:56:20 | well, technically i dont know what format it is. since you sent out an email, thats what i figured =) and i actually came up with a rough chara (ended up with like 20 str, and 10s in everything else but dex..) but i like seeing what else people can come up with =) besides, its been forever since i actually made a pc. |

Your grapple and charge/horn damage (with feats below) will be massive. For example, at 3rd level, if you had Str 20, your grapple check would be +16 (+5 str, +3 bab, +4 bulking brute, +4 improved grapple) - VERY hard to beat. If you want to kick major rear-end, consider the Dragon Disciple prestige class from 3.5 DMG. If your DM allows it, you can also tack on Feral template from SS. FEATS (2 from levels + 2 bonus) ¥ hulking brute (DLCS) ¥ improved unarmed strike (3.5 PHB) ¥ improved grapple (3.5 PHB) ¥ whatever FEATS (in the future): ¥ Scent (3.5 MM, per DLCS race text) ¥ Power Attack (3.5 PHB) ¥ Improved Sunder (3.5 PHB) ¥ horned stampede (AoM) ¥ heroic surge (AoM) ¥ improved natural attack/horns (3.5 MM) ¥ improved natural armor (3.5 MM), as many times as you'd like You could also grab Expertise/ImprovedDisarm route if you qualify with INT. With your 2-handed large weapon and Str, you'd be pretty good at it. Weapon specialization is always good. As for stats, I would probably do the following with 28 pt buy: Str 15 (8), Dex 15 (8), Con 14 (6), Int 12 (4), Wis 10 (2), Cha 8 (0) Race = +4 str, -2 dex, -2 int, -2 cha Levels = +5 str (4th/8th/12th/16th/20th) Final (by 20th levle) = Str 24, Dex 13, Con 14, Int 10, Wis 10, Cha 6 This way, you can wear full heavy plate +8ac, and get your +1 dex optimized, and also qualify for Dex 13 feats (impvd.grapple path, spring attack path, etc.). You're also only hurting in Cha, but your not dump/simple or unwise. I'd roleplay that as a superiority complex or racial arrogance that others find distasteful. If you do 10th Dragon Disciple, add +8 str, +2 con, +2 int, +2 cha, which nets you: Final (by 20th level w/DragDisc) = Str 32, Dex 13, Con 16, Int 12, Wis 10, Cha 8 |
#5talinthasSep 06, 2003 18:31:07 | wow. see, thats why i ask for help. i havent got the slightest idea how to min max like that =) course, dragon disciple isnt really dragonlance, so i might skip that. Otherwise, this looks rad. Thanks! |
#6arianna_greenleafSep 06, 2003 18:52:22 | Originally posted by talinthas Actually, I'd say it's more Dragonlance than FR, given the draconians. In fact, there was a guy (Dhuman, or something) that was turned into a shadow dragon, though not the same process. And since Ogre's have the "change into titan" device, I'd say there might be something like it for dragon-changing. There is also the chance of experimenting to create dragon-folk... |
#7talinthasSep 06, 2003 18:58:15 | but a half minotaur/dragon? that would be bizzarly trippy =) |
#8zombiegleemaxSep 06, 2003 19:02:38 | I'd post this in the Character Optimizer board! My colleagues there are quite skilled at this sort of thing. But if you do, be sure to post your ideas first! People that don't tend to be classified as "make my character for me cuz I'm too lazy" people and ignored. |
#9talinthasSep 06, 2003 19:05:15 | heh. i have a great background and stuff thought up for him. i just suck at statting characters out =) Guess thats why my games are always rules light and story heavy =) |
