#1cam_banksSep 13, 2003 16:02:45 | Yes, I'll be the first to say that Krynn doesn't have any half-dragons. However, as Terry "Ferratus" Doetzel is often given to say, there are a number of potential story hooks which could arise from some crazed cultist, wizard, or minion of a Dragon Overlord attempting to acquire draconic powers. Sean K Reynold's short 3-level half-dragon template class might fit the bill: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20030912a Note that this isn't the same as the process by which Dhamon slowly changed into a dragon, nor is it what happens to spawn, although it's certainly similar. Regardless, having seen it I felt it perhaps useful to bring folks' attention to the article in case they've had some interest in the idea but want to introduce it slowly. Cheers, Cam |

#4bansheeSep 14, 2003 20:04:30 | Originally posted by Apocalyp$e At least according to 2nd Ed., there *are* Krynnish half-dragons. However, they can arise only from the mating of a male silver dragon with a female human, half-elf, or elf. They don't have all the same abilities and such as standard half-dragons. Instead, they look like a human, elf, or half-elf, with silver hair and eyes. They have a +1 to every ability score. That's it. No horns or scales or anything... Banshee |

#6bansheeSep 14, 2003 20:19:13 | Originally posted by Apocalyp$e That's a June or July Dragon magazine a few years back. Whatever month is the one in which they do the Dragon themed issues. I don't recall the issue #, as the magazine's not at hand. But there was a Caldwell painting of dragons on it. That is the first issue in which half-dragons appeared, though they appeared in the Council of Worms setting at first. They also had half-dragons for Oriental dragons, and the 3 or 4 "heavy metal" dragons....the Iron Dragon, Tungsten Dragon, and two others. Banshee |
