#1DragonhelmSep 15, 2003 0:04:00 | I took the body manipulation non-weapon proficiency from 2e, and adapted it to a 3e format. I just wanted to get some feedback, especially to see if this is 3e-kosher. Here goes... -------------------------------- Body Manipulation You are able to enhance the physical properties of others. Prerequisite: Xixchil, Dexterity 15+ Benefit: You are able to enhance a physical quality of a patient. Choose one enhancement amongst the following: · Body Armor: The patient gains a tough outer shell, giving a +3 enhancement bonus to his Armor Class. · Darkvision: The patient can see in the dark up to 60 feet. Darkvision is black and white only, but it is otherwise like normal sight, and the patient can function just fine with no light at all. · Embedded Weapons: The patient gains an extra limb, which is shaped like a weapon (patient’s choice). This limb has all of the combat features of that non-magical weapon. · Enhanced Dexterity: The patient gains a +4 enhancement bonus to his Dexterity Score. · Enhanced Constitution: The patient gains a +4 enhancement bonus to his Constitution Score. · Enhanced Speed: The patient adds 10 to his base speed. · Enhanced Strength: The patient gains a +4 enhancement bonus to his Strength Score. · Flight: The patient gains large wings (12 foot span) which gives him a flying speed of 50 feet with average maneuverability, as long as they do not carry more than a Medium load, are not wearing Heavy armor, and are not fatigued or exhausted. The patient cannot fly in an area where they cannot fully extend their wings. · Low-light Vision: The patient is now able to see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. He retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions. Special: A patient may only benefit from this feat once, and may never gain more than one body enhancement. Each body manipulation reduces the patient’s Charisma by 4. |

#4DragonhelmSep 15, 2003 9:15:41 | Originally posted by Lost_and_Damned The original was in the Spacefarer's Handbook (not to be confused with Dragonstar's Starfarer's Handbook). Look under the Xixchil entry, and it is right below. Thanks for the compliments, guys. If I can get Static's approval, I'll see about posting it on Beyond the Moons. |

#6zombiegleemaxSep 16, 2003 12:30:23 | This is sweet! How long does the procedure take to perform? Unless I missed it, I didn't see anything mentioning a duration or anything... surely this isn't intended to be done in a combat situation, right? |
#7DragonhelmSep 16, 2003 12:51:34 | Originally posted by neverness Ack. I knew I forgot something. IIRC, this takes about 2 weeks. I'll try to add that flavor text back in. Thanks for catching that oversight. |
#8wyvern76Sep 16, 2003 22:15:01 | Body armor should provide a natural armor bonus, not an enhancement bonus. I think you ought also to consider requiring a Profession (surgeon) or Treat Injury check. The DC would depend on the procedure, and the Charisma loss would occur regardless of success or failure. Wyvern |
