The Emperor’s Tears: The Emperor’s Tears is a clababard which was crafted for and wielded by a champion of the Minotaur people during the reign of Istar. Graven the White was a Minotaur Paladin of Kiri-Jolith who wielded this blade with both Justice and Wisdom. Graven is renowned for not only his great skill at arms and zeal for the freedom of his people but surprising a strong sense of compassion for not only his people but for those mislead by the King priest. He never willingly shed the blood of anyone. A Minotaur who recovers this blade may wield it either one or two handed. In normal combat, the everbrite blade of this weapon is equal to a +2 clabbard. Against evil creatures, its enhancement bonus is +4 and has the keen ability and in the hands of a Paladin or a level 10 Knight of the Sword the bonus vs. evil increases by another +2 (for a total of +2 vs. non evil and +6 vs. evil) and it provides +2d6 Holy damage. When battling non-evil foes this blade allows the wielder to add upon command +1d6 non-lethal damage to his successful attacks to lower the odds of killing the confused and mislead. The platinum and ivory hilt provides a virtual +4 bonus to charisma and wisdom (when determining a spell’s DC, bonus spells granted for a high ability score and for using skills/feats/abilities that rely on that ability) when within arms reach. The Emperor’s Tears is so named because it constantly drips holy water along the length of the blade when unsheathed by the rightful owner. Any creature struck that, is susceptible to holy water, suffers an additional +2d4 points of damage from the sword. Creatures susceptible to holy water within 5 feet of the wielder’s target take 1 point of splash damage from the weapon. This damage cannot be regenerated and must be healed normally. |

#4zombiegleemaxSep 18, 2003 14:00:38 | Ok, this is my weapon so far. Plz let me know what you think of it. The Emperor’s Tears: The Emperor’s Tears is a clabbard (2d6 damage with a crit of x3 on a 20) which was crafted for and wielded by a champion of the Minotaur people during the reign of Istar. Against evil creatures, its enhancement bonus is +4 and has the keen ability and in the hands of a character with the Aura of Courage ability the bonus vs. evil increases by another +2 (for a total of +2 vs. non evil and +6 vs. evil) and it provides +2d6 Holy damage. When battling neutrally or good aligned foes this blade adds 1d6 non-lethal damage bonus to successful attacks while vs. good only aligned foes all of the weapons damage on the blow that brings target down is considered subdual to remove the chance of killing the confused and mislead. After the first blow is struck its wielder is informed of his targets alignment by the energy flowing through the blade. The platinum and ivory hilt provides a sacred +4 bonus to charisma and wisdom (when determining a spell’s DC, bonus spells granted for a high ability score and for using skills/feats/abilities that rely on that ability(not stackable with other spells)) when within arms reach. The Emperor’s Tears is so named because it constantly drips holy water along the length of the blade when unsheathed by the rightful owner. Any creature struck that, is susceptible to holy water, suffers an additional 2d4 points of damage from the sword. Creatures susceptible to holy water within 5 feet of the wielder’s target take 1 point of splash damage from the weapon. This damage cannot be regenerated and must be healed normally. If the blade is wielded by anyone with a neutral alignment they receive 2d6 holy damage per round while an evilly aligned person would suffer 4d6 holy damage per round. |
#5zombiegleemaxSep 18, 2003 15:29:50 | One question: If the minotaurs are a race that is usually evil, why do they have a good champion? |
#6zombiegleemaxSep 18, 2003 15:50:18 | Well, just because alot of Minotaurs are evil doesn't mean that all are. This is a fantasy game after all so I'm not sure why this topic actually came up but here is my response. Kaz is a great official example of a good aligned Minotaur. The charachter Gavin the White was good aligned. He was fighting for the release of his people from slavery and he also worshipped Kiri-Jolith (as we know some Minotaurs do). He had such faith in his lord Kiri-Jolith that he actually totally broke the mold and became a paladin of Kiri-Jolith. Once Gavin gained power and skills as a paladin (and truly proved his intent and divine gifts) a human cleric of Kiri-Jolith (with his god's guidance) created a holy sword for him in the form of Gavin's chosen weapon (a Minotaur clabbard). Gavin then used that weapon to fight for the freedom of his people and others that were being repressed or enslaved under the Righteous boot of the Kingpriest. That is why at this point in history one of the Minotaurs champions was a righteous, good aligned paladin who left behind a holy artifact for future generations to uncover and wield in the name of Justice. Good enough?, hehe Now what about some tips/help/oppinions of the sword? |
