In the Tales of the Lance Box Set, it says that Paladine and Takhisis were at one time consorts, but in the Dragonlance Campaign Setting and the Age of Mortals, it says that they are siblings, so what is the case now? I always thought of them in the terms of what Tales of the Lance said.

They may be both. ;)

Many times in mythology, you see siblings as consorts, oftentimes producing offspring. It is documented that Paladine and Takhisis were the parents of the original dragons of Krynn. It's also mentioned that they're siblings.

Granted, the terms "brother" and "sister" may not necessarily refer to being siblings. ;)

Thanks Dragonhelm. I just never thought of Paladine (Lawful Good) as one to have his sister as a consort, but I am familiar with mythologies in which that kind of thing occurs. Again, thanks.

wasn't there an outcast god (chaos) who was not actually the High God and said that he created all the other Gods as siblings? I thought Paledine teachings about that?

Chaos was originally a greater god named Ildan (or something like that). But he went mad and began calling himself the all-father. The other gods stepped in and sealed him in the graygem (With the help of the gnomes). Reason why Reorx calls him the father is because he's stunned witless. It's explained at the appendix of book 3 of the war of souls.

Actually, Chaos' true name is Ionthas. And yes....the DoaVM appendix explains all on that note.....darn shame you paperback readers didnt get that. Personally Id like to see a little more lore on Ionthas........that was one of my favorite aspects of DoaVM.

yeah, it was Ionathus. Couldn't remember the exact name, but i knew it started with an I.
More material would be better, and probably will appear in a product detailing the Chaos War, no doubt.
