I don't know much about GreyHawk and I'm intrested in using it as a campaign setting. Can someone give me a basic idea of what GreyHawk is like(high-magic, low-magic, ect)? I was thinking about getting the LivingGreyHawk book and I have read several reviews on it. I haven't seen anything about dietys mentioned in any of the reviews, does the book have any it? Thanks in advance!

The Living Greyhawk Gazetteer provides comprehensive information about many of the Deities in Greyhawk. The 3e/3.5 D&D core books also provide information on some of the Deities. The LGG is also a great source for Greyhawk history and locations. There are several Out of Print supplements that can be purchased in PDF format aswell.

Greyhawk would be considered an average magic world. You won't find powerful magic items for sale at the village 5 and dime.

Follow this link.

GW is right, the Living Greyhawk Gazeteer is a resource any serious Greyhawker should have. Get one from Amazon.com for cheap.

The Living Greyhawk Website has a very cool table of all of the Greyhawk deities. And let me tell you, there are a lot of them! As most of these guys will attest. Check out all 184 HERE.

And enjoy.

The LGG is the most comprehensive and latest source of canon GH material. It gives you basically everything you need to know about Greyhawk however at the same time, what information it gives is just the basics. Greyhawk simply isn't small enough to fit into 192 pages

That said, for the modern or for the newbie GH'er, it's a must have as it is not only up to date, with several new inclusions to the world's history, but it's also ONE source book. There are gaps in the LGG which, if you're like me, you'll want to fill, and those gaps can be filled by purchasing older products (the SVGames link is the best, although having said that, some of the scans are crap quality and better can be found... err... elsewhere ), but one of the biggest problems GH as a setting has, is that there are SO many resources for it. So the LGG solves some of this by being fairly comprehensive and allowing you to do away with flipping through thirty books. That said, there are times when flipping through thirty books is the only way you'll find what you want and in that case, one must go to Jason Zavoda

Good stuff to know. I found an awesome site for GreyHawk info, cannonfire. Out of couristy I reasearched a god from the PHB( I picked Vecna) and there where so many articles. An arch-lich who had his own evil empire for a looong time? Who would've thunk it! The fact that there is something like the LGG but still so much information out there(wheter it's out of print books or websites) says alot about the GH campaign setting! It seems to have it's own well developed history like Tolkien's world. I'll probaly end up getting the LGG when I get some money.

Welcome GewdThyme The Foolhardy into the Brotherhood of Greyhawk! You shall not be sorry for your decision. GH is a very rich world with a very rich history. But you don't need me to tell you that.
