#1zombiegleemaxSep 25, 2003 0:14:32 | I'm just in the beginning stages of setting up a campaign (DL of course) that occurs JUST after the WotLance is over...say 6 months. A group of heroes is trapped in a Dragon Army controlled city and has to either A get out of the city and surrounding area or stay and become freedom fighters to try and oust the dragon armies out of the city. Thoughts/ideas on different types of adventures that would work well with a setting like this? I think the setting has the potential to be very cool. Just kind of stuck as far as fleshing it all out atm. |

Then again, suppose they do escape, they have left hundreds of people to the cruel yoke of the Dragonarmies. That should way heavily on their conscience and perhaps bring them back (see top suggestion again) or seek allies to liberate that city. |

They can only navigate through the Undercity during the day to spy on the Dragonarmies on the city above. The ability to disguise themselves will be as important as the ability to set up reliable contacts, secret codes, and a way to get valuable information out of the city to allied groups like the people of Nordmaar. That way the goal is not the same old "we have to liberate the city" cliche. |

Making those moral choices makes a game so much more interesting. For example, in a game I played in, another player's character was made immortal. Everyone he loved died around him, so all he wanted was to die. He was given the chance, when he gained possession of an evil artifact. Long story short, the artifact cancelled his immortality, but he would have used it for great evil. So he got rid of it. If you go the resistance route, you may add in a dragonarmy soldier or officer who is sympathetic to the resistance's cause. Actually, that might also make for a good player character. Perhaps add in an outside threat, where the good guys and the dragonarmy have to band together. Anyway, those are just some thoughts. Good luck with the game! |
