#1zombiegleemaxOct 06, 2003 16:20:21 | After a long haul my players are ready for a fresh campaign retiring their high levels in the Free City. I presented them with a number of options and they have chosen to be 1st level agents of the Scarlet Brotherhood. Basically I'm wondering if anyone has any info on some good resource type books with content relating to the Scarlet Brotherhood and surrounding territories, Hepmonaland, Lorship of the Isles, Hold of the Sea Princes, and the Amedio Jungle. Maybe Sunndi as well, but I have alot of Sunndi fleshed out already. I'm mainly interested in Hepmonaland and the Amedio Jungle tho. Anything solid and informative on the Olman people may be valuable for me as well. Currently I have the "Slavers" adventure module and "The Scarlet Brotherhood" resource book (accessory). Also plz keep in mind I'm primarily 1st Ed. and 2nd Ed. oriented. Any ideas? Thanks. Abysslin |

I *think* that the module, Isle of the Ape, occured somewhere down there, but haven't read it myself so I'm not sure. I suppose there might be additional information in all the other sourcebooks that detail the entire setting, like 'The Adventure Begins', 'From the Ashes' and the '83 boxed set, but of the first two I truly can't remember any references to the SB, aside from their influence in the Greyhawk Wars. |

If you have the Scarlet Brotherhood handbook, you have "THE CANNON" on Amedio and Hepmonaland. There is a slight bit of info on the Scarlet Brotherhood in the Last Chapter of "Fate of Istus" Supermodule, and "Greyhawk Treasures" has some adventures involving Yuan-Ti based in Amedio Jungle, but that's about all I'm aware of. Neither comes close to the SB handbook. |
#4zombiegleemaxOct 07, 2003 7:45:50 | You might want to take a peek at the Onnwal gaz from LG, there are several sections in there about how the SB are behaving in Onnwal, system of government, dieties etc etc. Much of this will be taken from the SB sourcebook but its free so can't hurt, it can be viewed from the Living Onnwal website here: http://www.onnwal.org/ |
#5Gnarley_WoodsmanOct 07, 2003 8:40:31 | The scarlet Bhood supplement details most of the areas and the organizations. (You have it, it's all you need ) The other sources are excellent. |
#6zombiegleemaxOct 07, 2003 9:11:03 | Ok, I also have Fate of Istus, The Adventure Begins, and Greyhawk Treasures WGR2 as well as the Living Greyhawk Gazateer so I guess I'm on my own from here. Thanks for all the information I wouldn't have even thought to look at those 2 books again! Just seems like there should be more... ... Can anyone tell me a little about Pirates of the Falling Stars Handbook? Would it be useful for me to pick up? I imagine my players are going to be aboard ship alot. Abysslin |
#7zombiegleemaxOct 07, 2003 9:30:15 | Originally posted by abysslin It sounds like something to do with the Sea of fallen stars from FR to me. IIRC that area is rife with pirates but my experience is 1no stand alone adventure so is hardly exhaustive. |
#8zombiegleemaxOct 07, 2003 9:52:09 | Ahh... Thank You. Useless then. Gawd I hate FR. Abysslin |
#9zombiegleemaxOct 07, 2003 11:14:33 | If you want info on pirates, I recommend Swashbucklers by GURPS (the system is irrelevent, the material in the book is valid for any system) and most of the 7th-Sea supplements. Both give lots of good material on pirating, pirates and ship-based adventures. |
#10grodogOct 07, 2003 21:00:44 | You'll also want to check into the 1e modules C1 The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan and I1 Dwellers in the Forbidden City, feature Olman and Hepmonaland ruins (respectively). There's also an RPGA Adventurer's Guild module which sends PC SB agents into a town to assassinate the mayor: Mission Brief 6106 SD XXXIV (by Christopher McKitterick, it's an add-on/tie-in to the Scarlet Brotherhood book). From Jason Zavoda's index, here are some other places to dig up info: Amedi (Amedian)[PPL][LNG] |
