#1kalidor187Oct 06, 2003 20:15:35 | I as checking out the preview for the Book of Exalted Deeds and there was the mention of a creature called a "rhek". It states "Although they reside on Arcadia, rheks are not native to that plane. They originally hail from somewhere on the Material Plane and were brought willingly to Arcadia by powerful members of a planar faction called the Harmonium. The rheks first appeared on Arcadia shortly after Menausus, formerly the third layer of Arcadia, dissolved and became one with the plane of Mechanus. The rheks were helped to restore order in the wake of this cataclysmic event." http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20031004d This was an interesting little write-up, and I was wondering if PS3E was going to have similar tidbits when introducing new creatures. New anything is fine, but I thoroughly enjoy reading the backgrounds to put it in perspective. Anyway, it looks like someone at WotC is still trying to add Planescape specific elements to the D&D world. |

The same layer sliding event they mention in the BoED. And when/if new creatures are introduced, as well as when giving updates to older creatures I rather assume we'll have little tidbits such as the one you mention included. Of course I'm of the 'flavor text is as important, or more important, than the numbers' camp. ;) Flavor text is my friend. So are independant clauses, but we won't talk about that. We'll let the editors claw at their brains over that little flaw. :D |
