#1delerakOct 13, 2003 22:20:27 | I've read the books, it's been a while for some reason I can't remember what measurement is used on Athas. Was it actually feet, inches etc? Because I do recall miles somewhere, and I also recall stones for weight, or ten-stones. If someone could post a table of some sort, or just tell me what you know, I'd be greatly appreciative. -Delerak |

#3xlorepdarkhelm_dupOct 14, 2003 13:07:36 | I think the RP material used the US Standard system (feet, miles, gallons, etc.) while a few novels were a bit more creative (stones, etc). Thier time system's really cool if a bit confusing. |
#4zombiegleemaxOct 15, 2003 18:32:46 | If they're using the Imperial system, a stone is 14 pounds. |
#5jon_oracle_of_athasOct 16, 2003 4:17:58 | *Modron weighs stone* 13.4 pounds. Doesn't correspond with Imperial standard. Must terminate. :D |
#6KamelionOct 16, 2003 8:12:24 | Athasian modrons now, is it? Jeez, and we're not even done with the hamsters yet!! |
#7jon_oracle_of_athasOct 16, 2003 8:16:04 | *Modron looks about.* Desolate desert. Wait. That does not compute. Target destination was water world. Overheating commencing. Must... *Head spins and falls off due to heat.* |
#8zombiegleemaxOct 16, 2003 23:05:47 | Heh, modrons are the reason I kept my planescape and dark sun campaigns seperate. I would feel so very sorry for the poor rogue modron PC on Athas . . . getting torn to pieces for all that metal. |
#9nightdruidOct 17, 2003 10:00:33 | Originally posted by Mach2.5 Also good justification for keeping SJ & DS seperate...scorpionship lands on Athas, lasts 3 minutes as it gets assaulted by thousands of warriors looking to rip it apart for metal :D |
#10zombiegleemaxOct 30, 2003 18:10:03 | I prefer to use Biblical measuring systems in my DS games; it just seems to fit, I dunno, in some stylistic sense. --Athas, despite having no gods, definitely has a "wrath of God" thing going on NB |
#11zombiegleemaxOct 30, 2003 18:15:16 | Originally posted by Mach2.5 I used modrons in a DS campaign once....I just made them out of stone and glass, instead of metal. And Primus wasn't a god; merely the modron version of a sorcerer-king. (Mmmmmm....modron templars..... ) --still, they were modrons, all right, just made of glass and stone NB |
