#1XIIINov 05, 2003 20:09:58 | before the question, here is a few info on why this question arised. I have been DMing for like 10 years in DL 2e and had plenty of fun with it, now, my players gave my PH & DMG as a birthday present, i thought that was nice, then of course, i bought the DLcs since that has been our world for 10 years. In ten years, i got made many things, out of this, about 200 npcs that are used either in each game session or once in a while. There is one i thought about in 2e but didnt do it, now : Could a Paladin of Kiri-Jolith after a few years of fighting get in his mind to become a Cleric of is God because he think he could do better as a Cleric, and then, after a few years, take on the Legendary Tacticain Prc? On my side, it looks good, but any other DM got any idea or comments, the npc isnt done yet, so no stats and all... I really need some help. XIII |
#2DragonhelmNov 05, 2003 21:19:29 | Originally posted by XIII So long as the character meets the prerequisites for the PrC, I don't see why not. Here's a scenario... --------------------------- Kaelus was a simple farmer at the beginning of the War of the Lance. Unfortunately for him, the dragonarmy forces were approaching rapidly. He knew he had to flee, or die. Kaelus had heard of the Whitestone forces, and wished to meet up with them to fight against the evil of the dragonarmies. He got lost along the way, and found himself alone on a cliff, overlooking the horizon, where he could see fires started by the dragonarmies. "No!" he cried. "By all that is holy, no! No matter what we do, they come. Is there nothing to stand against them? Will no one champion the cause of light?" That's when he heard the voice. Behold, the voice said. I am Kiri-Jolith, the horned god, and Sword of Justice. I have heard your cries, and have listened to the beating of your heart. You are a man of honor and virtue. Would you sacrifice yourself, so that others may live? "Of course," the man said. "If I must sacrifice myself, then take my life. It is yours for the taking." Very well, Kaelus. I shall take your life, although not in the way you mean. For as I am the heavenly Sword of Justice, you shall be the Sword of Justice of the mortal plane. And so it was that Kaelus would join the Whitestone forces, decorated in silver armor, carrying a mighty greatsword. He was a natural leader, often rallying the forces against the evil of the dragonarmies. After the War, Kaelus realized that he no longer needed to be a Sword of Justice, as there were no enemies. Instead, he turned towards the path of a cleric, teaching others of the might and majesty of Kiri-Jolith. For nearly 30 years, he has served as advisor to the Knights of Solamnia, and was made an honorary Knight of the Sword. When the Knights of Takhisis began to conquer Ansalon, Kaelus worked with the Knights of Solamnia against this new foe. During one battle, the commander of the Solamnic forces was slain. Acting upon impulse, and with the might of his god behind him, he organized the remaining forces, and drove back the Knights of Takhisis. Kaelus has led this branch of the Solamnic forces for a month now, scoring several small victories against the Knights of Takhisis. He wishes to meet back up with the main body of the Solamnic forces. ------------------------------- How's that? |

#6randpcNov 06, 2003 12:12:45 | Quite nice if you came up with it on the spot, are you an author/writer by any chance? |
#7DragonhelmNov 06, 2003 12:31:11 | Originally posted by RandPC I've contributed to the DLCS and Age of Mortals, as well as a quick snidbit in Pale Designs by Bastion Press. Thus far, I've concentrated on the gaming side of things, but I would like to branch out into being a full-fledged author. It's something I'm working on. |
