Ok exactly why is the leader of carnival a darklord
***** possible spoilers below******

If she was an "angel" and chose to stay in human form to enter ravenloft to track the gentleman caller, why exactly does she have a pocket domain. I thought all domains were reserved for darklords only.

Isolde isn't a darklord, but, being an Outsider, she has a reality wrinkle. Although not a "domain", the reality wrinkle allows her to cross domain borders, closed or not, and distorts the fabric of Ravenloft around her (hence the Twisting).

I believe it even prevents the entry of darklords into her "personal space", but I'm not quite sure...certainly they would find their powers diminished...

I believe she's described as having a "pocket domain" in either Champions of Darkness or Heroes of Light, but I think this must be due to confusion on the author's part.

The concept of the reality wrinkle hadn't really been, um, ironed out in 2nd edition, so it wasn't out of line to speak of the Carnival as a sort of pocket domain, even though it's really quite different in intent.

I think Domain lords can speak to her or at least see her. They talk about her ursuping Hazliks's power and making him cry.

same as devils, I recall reading Strahd tried to kill the Gentleman Caller (makes sence after what GC does to girls) but failed to cross the reality wrinkle. Still I would haved been an epic fight Strahd Vs GC.
