From issue 314's preview for Dragon #315:

CAMPAIGN CLASSICS - This special issue returns D&D gamers to their roots. We're presenting an article from nearly every D&D campaign ever produced, from Al-Qadim to Taladas. Each article takes some part of these campaigns settings and presents it updated for D&D 3.5. This issue also features a history of the D&D campaign settings by Stan!

Dragonlance by Jamie Chambers - This article gives you information on playing a draconian character, as well as some feat options for your favorite draconian.

Greyhawk by Erik Mona - Resident Greyhawk guru Erik Mona gives us dozens of regional feats for the Greyhawk setting, usable whether you play in Oerth or not.

Al-Qadim by Dean Poisso - The sha'ir class returns to D&D! Harness the power of magic through your gen with this new 20-level class.

Ravenloft by David Noonan - You fought Strahd in 1st Edition and 2nd Edition, now battle the most legendary vampire in D&D in revised 3rd Edition. Plus, revisit Castle Ravenloft with a brand-new map of Strahd's lair.

Kara-Tur by James Wyatt - This article provides ancestor feats and martial arts styles for the regions of Kara-Tur.

Red Steel by Frank Brunner - Witness the return of cinnabar and red steel, the affected, and tortles.

Plus, Blackmoor, Dark Sun, Planescape, Hollow World, and more!

But then we'd all miss you, and have to summon you back from the dead as an undead monster. And that's just messy.

We could always reincarnate him as a squirrel...

I like the fact that the article is written by Jamie Chambers, showing that WotC does know what they are doing. Perhaps this will have official draconian monster levels...

Yeah, but last time he just went nuts. ;)

Notice that James Wyatt (who wrote Oriental Adventures) wrote the Kara-Tur article.

Too bad it doesn't mention Spelljammer. *sigh*

If they're going to bring in Blackmoor and Hollow World, Trampas, I think you can be confident they'll bring in SJ. :-)

On a side note, a local comic store has Spelljammer comics and the TSR Worlds Annual that launched the series. E-mail or IM me if you need any of them.

Dragon #315 looks VERY cool. Nice to see some of the classic campaign settings that still have a strong fanvase being given some attention for once.

I'll definitely have to pick it up for the DragonLance article alone.

Yours are the reason I'm not particularly concerned about seeing another iteration, "official" does carry with it a lot of weight however.

That's assuming they're monster classes presented Savage Species style, which isn't used anywhere else in D&D products. It's possible they're presented as the baaz and kapak are in the DLCS, which means your monster class variants are still useful.

Savage Species monster classes are a variant alternative to the standard ECL mechanics given in the core rulebooks. As such, they aren't considered core rules and seem to have become more of a fan-favorite than anything WOTC plans on including in future product.

Cam

True. Really, all monster classes are are the ECL given levels, so you can play the monster earlier. It would be pretty sweet to see them up on Savage Progessions though, even if they're just doing templates right now.
Due to the low likelyhood of seeing the "official" monster classes, that's the reason why i made the draconian classes. I've had players wanting to be a silvak or whatnot and where i set my campaign (3rd level) won't allow it normally. Savage Species, for all the nay-saying, is pretty darn useful. I just hate the half-ogre in the back. *shudder*

I hope. *crosses fingers*

I'm actually very happy with this move. If they did this once a year, that would be fantastic. I was always a big fan of the various settings.

Much appreciated. I've got most of that series, but not all. I'll look up the numbers I need, and shoot an e-mail to you later.

Thanks, my man!

Maybe the Savage Species Monster Levels as Class Levels haven't apeared in any rulebooks outside of Savage Species, but they are presented in Dragon from time to time. I mean last month's had it for Werecreatures.

From what preview hints at I would suspect they'll have monster class tables for Draconians.

Dragon #311 was the September issue. So #315 should be the January issue, meaning it'll probably hit the bookshelves of Borders and Barnes & Nobles sometime late December.
