GH Scenarii modifications? plz hlp ;)

Nov 09, 2003 4:51:59 Recenly i read an thread about dragons on this forum and some members( Delgath and someone else) wrote they replace the dragon (in the moathouse, at the beginning) in Return to The temple of elemental evil.
I am preparing this scneario and i realized they were totally right, it was not an interesting place for A dragon.
Following this idea, i would like to know the modifications you brought in recent an older module. I know it's above the purpose of a thread, so maybe we can stay on the last 3rd scenario (wich are not so much...).
For instance my players are currently players "Sunless citadel". Whatever you added or modificated in last scenarii that is not too much implicated in our campaign interest me, and may intererest others.

Nov 09, 2003 8:18:55 If I understand you correctly, you are looking for alternatives to the dragon encounter in RttToEE?

Just for the record, I replaced the blue dragon with a green dragon because it made more sense for the area. IIRC, the CR for that encounter is 5. I restatted a green dragon for CR 6 since my players were slightly more powerful than the recommended level four.

Nov 09, 2003 11:26:44 We used a Troll when I played and DMed RttToEE to replace Untrishimon, the blue dragon, at the Moathouse.

Troll are also CR 5, so it worked well. We gave it full hit points to make it a long, pitched battle.

We played The Sunless Citadel as it is wriiten. Except, we started with the Unearthing the Past adventure, which lead into The Sunless Citadel. We placed Oakhurst halfway between Sobanwych and Homlett, well inside of the Gnarley Forest.

Yes, a troll or a smaller dragon is a good idea. No others interesting modifications in Rtoee?
Did you make some interesting add in the Hommlet area?

Nov 09, 2003 16:08:01 Cool, Makoma. I think a lot of DMs put their Oakhurst in about the same place. It's a good spot. We actually did Forge of Fury after The Sunless Citadel, then RttToEE.

Anyway, changes to RttToEE, you ask? Yes, we made a lot of changes. But I could not possibly describe them all here. I recommend the Official RttToEE forum. Check it out HERE. These guys really know the RttToEE, and they have even converted it to 3.5 Ed rules. Poke around there, and you'll find an enormous amount of ideas.
