Regardless, I was thumbing through the Underdark supplement for FRCS and came across a feat called Portal Sensitive. One of the races eligible for this is one called a gloaming (planetouched via Plane of Shadow). In fact, a gloaming receives this as a bonus feat. I guess my question is, what plans are there to incorporate feats, skills, races, etc. featured in other campaign settings into PS3E? Numerous new 'crunchy bits' have been released since the PS3E crew began working on the conversion, which would honestly drive me up the wall. Will WotC allow you to publish something like the aforementioned Portal Sensitive feat, making it a bonus feat for all 'planar' races? Or is that some sort of copyright violation? Most of the FRCS product line is not considered Open Game Content. |

Planescape it is inteded to be a free setting, you should be able to import any stuff from any d&d setting, of course with rational limits, you cant play as a Dragon LanceĀ“s minotaur with feats and classes from Oriental Adventures. |
#3zombiegleemaxNov 13, 2003 9:59:48 | But PS3e cannot post a complete guide including that DL Minotaur as a Samurai. I'm not sure what there agreement is with WotC but I wouldn't think that WotC would allow them to use their non-SRD things in the world. I doubt that WotC would allow them to use their FR specific things in the writeups. And as for DL, DL probably cannot be mentioned because the Liscense for DL was sold to Sovereign Press. In short, YOU can use all of these things. Planescape is about a mixing of different campaign worlds anyways. But for the PS3e team to use it, they have to not get in trouble. |

However I do think that references to other campaign settings is kosher to an extent given the rather unique nature of Planescape in that it tied literally any and ally campaign settings together into one cohesive multiverse. Others on the team around here could answer that one better than I could however. So if they speak up you'll get a much better answer than I can provide. |
#5caoslayerNov 13, 2003 13:10:36 | anyway, the web it is full of both official and house ruled material. Im mastering a planescape campaing using my old planescape books and the 3e SRD. also for a very good link of d20 stuff, check this: for pdfs with all the oficial magical items, races, prcs, spells, etc. www.crystalkeep.com/d20/ the "offical" Dark Sun 3e site www.athas.org and the official Dragonlance site (full of unofficial stuff): http://www.dl3e.com If you know spanish there is spanish versions of all those official sites. |
#6alien_rope_burnNov 13, 2003 14:34:47 | Originally posted by Shemeska the Marauder AFAIK... we can't really do crossover bits so easily. The licensing issue is, of course, a problem. It might be okay to do vague references (like my referencing of Arwyl Swan's Son being a purple knight)... but not too much crossover will be seen - especially system material. We may have pointers, though, such as 'see this FR book for nifty Planetouched feats' or the like. As much as I'd like to see everything from Fu Leng to Takhisis, we have to try and stick mainly to the PS setting. The other issue is, of course, accessibility. Classic PS had the awful problem of dragging stuff in without stopping to explain it - they would mention things like asura or voadkin or saurials or wild mages without ever giving stats for them, and to actually find out about them would require digging through a lot of non-PS Monstrous Compendiums, the Tome of Magic, etc. Moogle probably knows more than I, in any case. |
