#1zombiegleemaxNov 15, 2003 14:47:28 | I see a reference to the Twelve Lairs of the Zoadiac in the LGG, but no description of what Oerth's Zodiac signs are and what they're supposed to signify. Any help? |
#2zombiegleemaxNov 15, 2003 18:58:21 | There is a brief description and some 'signs' written up in... err, IIRC, The Player's Guide to Greyhawk. Something about the Flan and rocks or something. I once tried to create a zodiac as well as a complex system to determine a characters fate by their birthdate, much like common astrology, but with a fantasy twist. Unfortunately it proved to be a little bit beyond my tolerance level for effort vs. reward MerricB wrote something up on the Baklunish zodiac which should still be on Canonfire, but other than that, there is no canon or otherwise (that I know of) source for a Greyhawk zodiac. |

On p. 43 players of Flan characters are given the option to be of a tribe who believe that the season in which a character is born determines the customs and taboos the person is expected to follow. The page goes on to detail them (one custom has to do with stones). It also states that the Bakluni use horoscopes. Bakluni born during a festival week have to fasten each year during this week. There's also a table with Customs and Taboos on p.46 for people not born during a festival week. It does not state specifically if this is connected to their horoscopes or a zodiac.
