#1zombiegleemaxNov 16, 2003 8:46:57 | Hello everyone , I was wondering if a kind soul could help me . I am in need to know what Sturm Brightblades Code of ethics is? Something like "My honour is my life!" What I am really looking for is the latin version of it(I want to use it as a signature). Thanks for your help, and man I have to pick up some of these books again its been 10 years since I have read a Dragonlance novel. |

I think a Dragonlance revival is in order for me. Years ago my group got really bored with Dragonlance, the modules that covered the original books were dull IMHO and the players felt that they were going through someone elses story in them. So basicly what I want to know is if the "new" Dragonlance material allows players freedom to develop their own stories or does it stick to the novels for campaighn development? Thank you once again and have a nice day. |

#8zombiegleemaxNov 17, 2003 22:38:27 | Hey, does anyone know what "Est Sularis Oth Mithas" means translated directly? See, I've been trying to pick up some Solamnic, and I was analyzing this phrase. I've always taken it to be "Is(Est is French for is) Life my Honor", and if anybody's taken any foreign language class, you know how direct translations don't work out correctly. Well, I always took Mithas to mean Honor because that is the name of the main minotaur isalnd, and everyone knows that we...I mean they, are the most honorbound race that has ever existed and will one day rule Krynn. But anyway, after looking at the Song of Huma in Solamnic, in English somewhere, it had the word "life", and in Solamnic, it had the word "Mithas". So, does this mean that Sularis means Honor, and Mithas means Life? Well, why would the Minotaurs name their island Life? But then, my brother made an interesting point: since to the minotaurs(and the KoS), their honor is their life, so maybe the words for Honor and Life are interchangeable. Or maybe Mithas means something different in minotaur(their language is called Kothian or something, isnt it?). But, somebody told me once that the Minotaur's language is sorta a mixture of the High Ogre language(am not sure if they spoke regular ogre or not) and Solamnic. Is there any truth to that? |
