If you go to the Wizards D&D home page, go to the previews headline. Towards the bottom there will be something on the miniatures, in it will be a picture of the Kapak draconian miniature. The heading says that there will be two draconians in the set, but only the Kapak is specifically named.

Just thought some here would like to know, unless you already did, which is fine

Great...maybe they'll get the color right and paint it copperish looking....

Oh you've got to be kidding me... WHITE!?!?!

What the hell is wrong with these people!?! How friggin' hard is it to paint them the right color. Baaz - Brass, Kapak - Copper, Siviak - Silver, Bozak - Bronze, Aurak - Gold. I mean this isn't friggin' rocket science or neurosurgery. It's pretty straight forward...it's not that difficult.

They're not green, or brown (although I can almost live with brown...it's at least close), and they sure as the Abyss ain't white!

Sorry about that...

But Brimstone - the kapak's hand is all ready to nock an arrow! It must be good!

I'd be more of a fan of these miniatures if they were unpainted and metal. Most of the fun is taken out of the hobby for me if they're prepainted and lightweight.

Cheers,

Yeah...I know...I bet it's awesome.

I agree. I won't be buying any of these miniatures. I think it's completely retarded that it's a random pack. And although it doesn't bother me as much that they're plastic (most of my minis are plastic...from Hero's Quest and Dragon Strike) it does bother me that they are painted.

Perhaps the fact that they're random packs is part of the fun for a lot of people, but for me...these are too expensive to waste money on when I don't even know what I'll be getting (and I don't know any other gamers that I can trade with).

It nice to see that there are others here that enjoy the grueling task of painting an inch tall model that takes nearly an hour :P

I agree with Brim, what is up with the white kapak? If it were large enough, I would just call it a sivak and get it over with.

.... the baaz has no wings.... and looks way too noble for my tastes.... and as mentioned before.... white kapaks... ick!

dunno, it's not too hard to repaint painted minis. i used to do it with my mage knight figures.

Actually, they are under his cloak.

Yeah, you can see them sticking out at the bottom. Now what they didn't give him was a tail. Which is backwards...the Kapak wasn't supposed to have a tail, and the Baaz was only supposed to have a stumpy one.

But I think that design kinda fell through the cracks years ago. Which is too bad. I liked that each draconian (aside from being it's own breed/color) all kind of had their own special quirk.

Baaz - Stumpy tail and wings...could pass the easiest as human (when cloaked)
Kapak - No tail
Sivak - Could fly
Aurak - No wings
Bozak - Hmm...I guess they didn't really have one

I do like that at least the Baaz has the ram horns of the Brass dragon (another Dragonlance original physical design that has kind of gone the way of the dodo). Except in the DLCS, they are giving the Bozak's the ram horns...because apparently someone thought that draconian on the cover of the paperback Doom Brigade is the bozak Kang...which it obviously wasn't intended to be (or Parkinson mistakenly thought Kang was a Baaz). Parkinson was the one who created the idea of Brass dragons and Baaz draconians to have the ram horns (see "Dragons of Flame" and "What Do You Mean We're Lost?"). Plus...that draconian is obviously yellow in color, meaning there is no way it was intended to be a bozak (which are more redish brown...like weathered bronze)...much like the cover of the original Doom Brigade by Elmore...that was obvioulsy a Bozak draconian, and most likely intended to be Kang.

[/end rant]

Man...I need sleep....

Most of the fun for folks oriented around miniatures as such, yes. I think WotC is shooting for those who want something easy to use with their D&D games, as well as the MageKnight market.

Personally, my inclination is towards counters. :-)
