Did Van Richten die in the Bleak House boxed set?

(Spoilers, obviously)

There are four published endings in each Bleak House boxed set. Three of them end with Van Richten's death. One of them, however, has Van Richten being returned to his childhood and educated by the ghost of his sister for the upcoming Time of Unparalleled Darkness.

None of these endings have ever been distinguished as 'canon' over another, so DM's prerogative is the name of the game. Pick whichever one suits your campaign best.

Excellent boxed set I assume? And in what year(Barovian calendar) did the Bleak House incident occur?

I bought the set, and used it several times before selling it to Cole Deschain. It was a fantastic module, and well worth the money. The second portion is outright the best, with the PCs being trapped in an insane asylum with Van Richten.

Unless I'm wrong, the module takes place in 750, as the Weathermay-Foxgroves say that, in 755, their friend has been missing for 5 years.

I'm actually running it right now; we just started on part 3 last night. It's utterly amazing. I'm loving running it, and my players are having a great time. Part 1, the insane asylum, would be worth the entire price of the module if it were the only thing there. Part 2 is a pretty standard dungeon crawl--definitely the weakest part of the mod--but there are enough extraneous hooks included to elaborate it as much or as little as you want. Part 3 is an incredibly creepy haunted house. There are some pretty confusing rules surrounding it involving using the tarokka that make it tough to wade through, but it's well worth the effort.

Hmmm...I think I may bid on this too. :D

It's well worth your money....I had a fantastic time running it and the asylum portion alone could fill two or three adventure sessions.

Yo B-Real, lemme break it down for you like this:

Peep,

The Bleak House Boxed Set
The Nightmare Lands Boxed Set
Night Of The Walking Dead module
I6 Ravenloft (just for G.P.)
The Evil Eye module
When Black Roses Bloom module (followed by...)
Spectre of The Black Rose novel

That's some of the best RL stuff I've ever seen.

That place drove me out of my mind. No pun intended.

QUASI-SPOILERS:

I saw my friends try to escape. They got captured, almost uncannily. So I said to myself, "screw this, I'm gonna go get some help." My character was a human who had been turned into a satyr (LONG story) with a damn good jump score. I managed to make it over the wall, and barely had time to breathe a sigh of relief when the cursed orderlies, apparently out of nowhere, tapped me on the shoulder, knocked me out, and dragged me back in. I cried. Visibly and audibly. ;_;

Still...what an awesome module. What an awesome, awesome module. I've yet to encounter one that can live up to that INCREDIBLY mind-twisting piece of genius. Plus, who can say no to the chance of fighting alongside of Rudolf Van Richten himself? ^_^

This boxed set's use has been incalculable designing Martira Bay and the module that will follow it for Involution. A generic version of Martira Bay will also be available soon for the community's use.

I don't know how to guage the extent of the city, but its many times bigger and more elaborate then anything seen in Morrorwind but smaller then say, the cities in Star Wars Galaxies. Of course my friend who plays that, says one of them has 700,000 missions in one city and well there are only 2 of us building Martira Bay and one DM writer. LOL
It will still be big enough to get lost in though. Just don't walk down any dark alleys at night.
