And is the story Shard's Memory in Rebels and Tyrants the only novel reference about them? Try as I might I can't seem to be able to find anything. The story hints that many of the Lokhar might have followed Severus Stonehand to retake Thoradin. In case you are wondering what I'm talking about, Lokhar (or the Twice-Born) were dwarves from any other clan whose memories of their previous life were destroyed by shadow wights in the Chaos War (and who had been forgotten by everyone else as well), and had thus become part of the unclanned dwarves. |

If someone can stay alive, but have no memory of themselves or their prior existance, then certainly they would exist outside of Thorbardin, among all races. Shadow-touched would make an excellent background feat to provide for "mysterious adventurers with a forgotten past". It is a chestnut, after all of television and comic books. Wolverine from the X-men, or that television series "nowhere man" are examples of this. Of course, they both had someone out there who remembered them, even if they themselves and most everyone else had as well. I would say then that the Lokhar are people that were mostly drained of their memories, but something prevented the job being finished. Thus they'd have vague flashes of recognition when they see people, places, and things... a sort of very limited bardic knowledge or legend lore ability. Man, the ideas just keep on coming tonight. I cracked the Scion mechanics and now this. Oh, to answer your question, the Lokhar have not been covered in game material. |

Not only that, Shard's Memory even hints that the condition could be somehow reverted by compelling a shadow wight (any one of them, not necessarily the one who stole the memories, because apparently all of them know all of the lost memories) to reveal the Lokhar's previous identity. If someone can stay alive, but have no memory of themselves or their prior existance, then certainly they would exist outside of Thorbardin, among all races. There's a mention that many of them do exactly this. The rest stay in Lobardin with other Lokhar (and many of the 'normal' unclanned dwarves). |

So instead of being erased...you loose part of your self...part of your past is erased instead. Now, if they kept feeding on you, eventually you would cease to be...but they cut it off early these days. Or, can if they so choose. |
