I know there've been threads discussing who should play each darklord in a hypothetical Ravenloft movie; but I was wondering if anyone could come up with a song or tune that can capture some resident BBEGs' personality and/or history: something a DM might listen to before a game session, to put themself in the mood to play that character. Your choice could be any genre, era, or style, be it Beethoven or Nine Inch Nails ... just name the darklord and his/her ideal "theme song"! |

(Repeat chorus) Sometimes I'm up, sometimes I'm down; Oh, yes, Lord. Sometimes I'm almost to the groun', Oh, yes, Lord. (Chorus) I wish that I could find a way; Oh, yes, Lord, But life is just one long, rainy day; Oh, yes, Lord. (Chorus) Glory, Hallelujah! |

Pieter Van Riese- Any and all of Wagner's Der Fliegander Hollander. And the rest of the body of Wagner's work is just fine for Kingfuhrer Drakov. |
#9zombiegleemaxNov 25, 2003 22:15:42 | The only darklord I've ever used theme music for was Dominiani; he got the main theme from Requiem for a Dream. Also, while he's certainly not a darklord, van Richten's theme music has always been "The Orange Man" from Unbreakable in my mind. |
#10hida_jiremiNov 26, 2003 3:23:46 | Ooohhh, here's one I've been dying to talk about. I make my own CDs full of theme music for my adventures, so I've got tons. Just as a start, though... Harkon Lukas Metallica, "Of Wolf and Man" - written for him, I'm sure Elena Faithhold Rob Zombie, "Dragula" - you've gotta love any song that has lyrics about burning witches, neh? (Though it's actually a racing song, I know.) Metallica, "Unforgiven II" Dominic D'Honaire Les Miserables, "Master of the House" Eurhythmics, "Sweet Dreams" Victor Mordenheim REM, "Losing My Religion" Vlad Drakov Drowning Pool, "Bodies" Nazareth, "Hair of the Dog" Maligno the Carrionette Tori Amos, "Happy Workers" - off the Toys soundtrack; I;ve always found this song to be friggin' creepy Wilfred Godefroy Red Hot Chili Peppers, "Otherside" Gravediggerz, "1-800 Suicide" And that's just a beginning. Let me actually go through my CDs... Hida Jiremi |

#12zombiegleemaxNov 26, 2003 10:07:59 | Originally posted by Cole Deschain Great minds think alike. Soth: Kane's enterance music from WWF music Vol. 4 Strahd: Undertaker's music from WWF music Vol. 3 when he's being dramatic. The theme from Interview with a Vampire when he's not. |
#13zombiegleemaxNov 26, 2003 10:20:41 | I think "Its a Sin" by Petshop Boys works pretty well for a lot of Dread Lords. There's an AMV on animemusicvideos.org using the song that features dozens of different anime villains, a lot of which you can match up to certain Dread Lords pretty easily. I use it to open my Ravenloft game. Lord Jules |
