I was wondering what interesting things have popped up when doing conversions, both good and bad. I’ll start. One of my characters is an irda wizard/bard that I played in post-Cataclysm years. Uh-oh! You can’t do that in 3e, since bards now gain their magic from primal sorcery (which wasn’t around when I played this character) and wizards gain their magic from High Sorcery. Plus, primal sorcery wasn’t around in the post-Cataclysm years. My solution was simple. Make him a wizard/WoHS and choose some appropriate skills to represent his bardic side (i.e. perform). Luckily, I only used spells from his wizard side, so this fit quite well. So, anything interesting happen to any of you? |

So I gave him the required levels of wizard, a few levels of WoHS, and then finished him off with a few levels of war mage. Well, recently I have thought it over, and I now feel that war mage was probably a bad I idea. I have decided to replace the levels of war mage with WoHS levels. Seeing as he was always a scientist at heart, WoHS would make more sense. |

He always wanted to be a fighter but his family forced him into the Reorx clergy. I gave him levels in cleric and all three levels in the Legion of Steel prestige class. Before you had to brake his arm to cast any clerical spells, now he really is a knight, and knights don’t cast spells… |
