Who here thinks that that feat (from the Draconomicon) in combination with the dragon rider PrC (from the DLCS) is one of the coolest combinations ever?

Think about it, the feat treats your cohort as three levels lower, as does the dragon rider PrC. Now riding that adult gold dragon cohort became much more realistic.

Unless they don't stack. ;)

Since they technically are not a bonus, they would stack, at least from how they are worded. The Sage may have to make a ruling on this.

Yes, it would have been nice if there was some added clarity to the feat's description, perhaps in the form of a line such as:

This feat stacks/does not stack with similar abilities.

After all, both Dragonlance and Draconomicon books do have at least one common denominator: the developer James Wyatt.

Ahh well. I'm running a Dragonlance campaign now and will likely rule that the feat stacks with the Dragon Rider PrC ability. Such a wickedly powerful dragon rider brings tears to my eyes. :D
