#1caulDec 01, 2003 0:17:07 | I think one of the things I liked most about FR was the use of regions as an influence in character creation, and I see that several of the feats listed in DS3.5 include suggested regions, but I don't see the blessed chart listing region, base languages, bonus languages, suggested feats, and bonus equipment. Does anyone else want to see this as much as I do? Of course, we would also need a list of the classes and their favored regions in order to figure out who gets a free feat and bonus equipment, but that shouldn't be to hard...I think I'll start working on it. Any thoughts would be appreciated... |

In my personal campaigns, PCs start off with a blanket, a waterskin, a non-metal weapon, a random light armor if eligible (has proficiency), and 1d4 cp. In other words - survival is difficult to say the least. |

A comprehensive list of applicable starting regions, cultures, political castes and such would be nice, but they need not offer anything above and beyond some suggestive starting packages. As for extra equipment, I'm with Jon on that, although he's even nice enough to give the PCs a bedroll and twice the money I do |

#6GrummoreDec 01, 2003 7:33:14 | Geez master, you are nice! Your silly frog usually start them as slaves! And of course, with nothing at all but few clothes ! Muhahaha!:D |
#7zombiegleemaxDec 01, 2003 7:34:55 | You could just start them out with nothing but a loin cloth and a templar bounty on their heads . . . |
#8zombiegleemaxDec 01, 2003 8:04:29 | And with only one HP due to whipping every day... This thread moved to to something like: 'Which is the most hopeless beginning in a new DS campaign?' :D |
#9flipDec 01, 2003 10:15:51 | We took what we thought was the worthwhile contribution from the "Regions" idea of Forgotten Realms -- Regional feats. If you'll note, there are a number of feats in the DS3 doc that specify regional prereqs. The other contributions of the regions from FR are, as you might note from the preceeding conversation, somewhat contentious. ;) |
