This Question is directed more to Stormprince and Cams really but I was wondering if the War of The Lance Sourcebook will go into not just the War of the lance but into the whole age of Despair. (I think that is the correct age). Also I was wondering if you were planning on doing a source book for each age. I would love one for the Age of Dreams (Huma's Time I think maybe I'm wrong).

Just to clarify - some of us are freelance writers who are contracted to work for Sovereign Press, as opposed to being employees of Sovereign Press. So although we do know some of what's coming up, we're by no means the folks to answer questions about upcoming products, and we're covered by a Non-Disclosure Agreement which prevents us from spilling the beans.

Dragonhelm gets updates and information straight from Jamie and Margaret, both as potential scheduled products (subject to change) and clarifications on release dates, etc etc. As soon as this information is made available, Trampas lets it out.

All that I know about the War of the Lance sourcebook is that it will be part of the celebration of 20 years of Dragonlance in 2004! Consider it to be the companion to the DLCS for the War and the period leading up to it - although I don't know anything about the contents or specifics. I'm really looking forward to it, since I got my start on the first Dragonlance module and those adventures are some of my favorites.

Cheers,
Cam

War of the Lance is scheduled for a summer 2004 release. I imagine it will be made available for a GenCon 2004 release.

Yeah, sorry, I don't have anything beyond a tentative release date.

I think it will be akin to Age of Mortals in regards to being a DLCS campaign companion. So take the basic format of that, then apply time period-specific material in it, and you should have a rough idea of what WotL will be like.

It's just that, how are they going to be able to fit everything in there? While the 5th Age is (so far) a long stretch of minor clashes followed by the frantic WoS, the 4th Age is a long stretch of minor clashes followed by the continent wide WotL, the brief Blue Lady's War and the massive Chaos War.

And since the book is called the 'War of the Lance', well...

There was also talk of a Legends game book as well, which would make sense to have as a follow up to a WotL book.

War of the Lance is just what it says - a sourcebook on the Chronicles era. It is not a sourcebook covering the entire Time of Dragons, from the WotL to the Chaos War.

So am I understanding this correctly? All the adventures from the War of the Lance are being reprinted using 3.5 rules?

No, it's a source book about the War of the Lance (347ish - 353).

It's not a reprint on the original 14 modules.

Forgive me if I am a bit out of the loop concerning Dragonlance. I've spent the last few years in Africa and more recently Kuwait/Iraq and I've missed a lot of what has been happening.

I almost couldn't believe my eyes when I returned home in October to see the Dragonlance Campaign Setting sitting on the bookshelf at the bookstore!

Thanks.

Hey...no problem. Welcome home!

Although, I do agree with Tal...reprinting the original modules would definately feel like flogging a dead goatsucker. ;)

Why not reprint the old modules? I understand that it's been done before, but not for 3rd edition. I know that most of you guys have been with Dragonlance ofr years and years and years, and so have I, but I only just fairly recently got into D&D(two years ago, about a year after 3rd edition debued), and have never gotten the opportunity to actually be in a DL game...jsut a regular D&D game with a kender who is really a brass dragon that had been killed by Malys during the Dragon Purge and reincarnated as a kender and doesn't know it, but he almost found out how to regain his full power, and he's potentially the key to defeating Malys because of a something special about him that hasn't really been fleshed out yet, but he didn't know that he almost re-bacame a dragon, but Malys did, and she tried to kill him, and his inner-dragon-y self transported him to our world, totally oblivious to how he got here or what he is except for a vision from Santa Claus that he recieved. Overly complicated? I think so!

On an unrelated topic: when exactly did Malys attack Kendermore? Was it during the Dragon Purge, or later? Because we're thinking of making it that she attacked because he was there. His character is 14 years old; woudl the numbers crunch right?

3 SC (386 AC). So that makes it 36 years ago as measured from the current position of the timeline.

While they have reprinted Chronicles in more ways than I care to count, there is actually alot of work involved in having to convert the old modules (yet again) to 3E.

The most likely chance of it all happening is if the guys at DL.com take up the project.

And the purge began at 3-4 SC and ended sometime 30 SC
