#1DragonhelmDec 03, 2003 17:37:08 | The Legend of Huma comic book adaptation will be in stores soon, so be sure to drop by your local comic book shop and have them reserve a copy. To find a comic book shop near you, call 1-800-COMIC-BOOK or you can go here. Let's do our best to support this one, guys. If this does well, then we may see more Dragonlance comics in the future. |
#2kalanthDec 03, 2003 17:51:20 | Just promise me that is better writing than the comics that came out in the 80's. Those were just bad. However, I collect a ton of things this company puts out and I am usually impressed. |
#3DragonhelmDec 03, 2003 18:01:00 | Originally posted by Kalanth I will personally vouch for this. Those were just bad. However, I collect a ton of things this company puts out and I am usually impressed. Good to hear! I've been impressed with what I've seen as well. That pic that Ernst posted of Huma kneeling in prayer...yowza! |
#4zombiegleemaxDec 03, 2003 21:29:08 | Originally posted by Kalanth I PROMISE YOU the writing is much better...LoH got the Official Richard A. Knaak Seal of Approval for faithfulness and excitement! If you enjoyed the novel, you'll love the comic. :D |
#5silvanthalasDec 04, 2003 12:05:26 | More info to follow up: The series is 6 issues, $2.95 each. Something I didn't mention on the mailing list is that the first issue at least (I am unsure about the others) will have a variant cover for the serious collector. |
#6silvanthalasDec 04, 2003 12:32:47 | Ok, now Trampas is saying again it could be 12 on the mailing list. I give up. :P |
#7rath_the_rangerDec 04, 2003 12:46:46 | Originally posted by silvanthalas Ernst from Roaring has said on their boards that it will be 6 issues... Here's his quote Originally posted by Ernst Dable on the Roaring Boards |
#8brimstoneDec 04, 2003 12:48:43 | Originally posted by Kalanth Personally...I thought the DC Comics Dragonlance books were really good, especially once they started the Riva Silvercrown story thread in full. |
#9DragonhelmDec 04, 2003 12:50:15 | I've been talking with the people at Roaring Studios since Ernst mentioned 6 issues, and the latest I have from them is that 12 issues is more likely. When I have more concrete info, I'll let you know, but that is the latest. |
#10DragonhelmDec 04, 2003 12:57:55 | Originally posted by Brimstone They were all set in Taladas, right? |
#11brimstoneDec 04, 2003 13:25:13 | Originally posted by Dragonhelm No...only about 8 or so were set in Taladas, the rest were set just after the War of the Lance. Really, Riva was a character in most of the comics...but it was towards the end that they got really good (right before she went to Taladas...then the Taladas stories were really really good). One of the very last series though (if not the last) was about how she became a knight, it was called "Sword of the Kinslayer." It was another very good series. So, just as it was getting good...it got canceled. But, isn't that usually the way of things? |
#12silvanthalasDec 04, 2003 15:32:35 | Originally posted by Dragonhelm Oh fooey. I would think that, by now, they'd know whether it's 6 or 12. Mainly, because that's some gaps to fill with writing, art, etc, if they're taking it from 6 to 12. But these guys seem to know what they're doing. |
#13zombiegleemaxDec 06, 2003 18:19:23 | LOL, sorry about that my friends, I guess I caused a big confusion here. Please allow me to clear things up a bit, The Legend of Huma is going to be broken down into two series. The first series is going to be six issues, and the second series is going to be six issues as well. I should have been more specific in my last post. As an apology for my causing a confusion, I'll post the kneeling Huma that my friend Trampas was talking about, enjoy |
#14silvanthalasDec 06, 2003 19:02:39 | Originally posted by The_Khan NP. I'm just looking to get the confusions sorted out so I can get all info necessary added for the comic to my product listing. Right now I just have Issue #1 (of ?). Doesn't look very useful like that. ;) So two six-issue series... is there any sort of titling for each series that I can use to help distinguish the two? |
#15DragonhelmDec 06, 2003 19:07:24 | Thanks for the info, Ernst. Sorry about the confusion, Craig. And Ernst - that is my favorite pic of Huma ever! It's so spiritual. |
#16zombiegleemaxDec 07, 2003 10:16:37 | No actually there is no special titles for either series, simply The Legend of Huma, Craig, my friend Hey Trampas, my friend. I agree with you this picture feels, sacred. I'm happy to hear that it is your favorite |
#17silvanthalasDec 07, 2003 12:22:03 | Originally posted by The_Khan Ok. So I'll just put Issue #X (of 6) throughout the year, twice over, and when somebody goes "huh?", I can say "Ernst told me so!" ;) |
#18DragonhelmDec 07, 2003 12:56:15 | Ernst, in case you're not aware, Craig does a great public service by compiling a product schedule for DL fans. He's been working with the site some as well, which has been great. Craig compiles info from WotC, Sov. Press, and now Roaring Studios. Kudos on a job well done. |
#19silvanthalasDec 07, 2003 15:54:58 | Originally posted by Dragonhelm Yeah. It might be a good idea if I go ahead and post the link on the Roaring Studios board as well just in case. Craig compiles info from WotC, Sov. Press, and now Roaring Studios. Kudos on a job well done. Thanks. I had considered also adding a DL products listing, mostly wanting to update Weldon's, but I see that DL.com already has the product listing and the chronology. So I dunno. Speaking of which, Trampas, you should drop me an e-mail some time to see how you want to handle the upcoming list for DL.com, and whether it's an issue to just link to my page, or if you want me to continue to drop a txt version your way (since I still have one). |
