#1zombiegleemaxDec 12, 2003 0:46:02 | Hey peoples, I'm going to be running an adventure next week with 3 players, and I'm trying to figure out where I'm going to start it. There is a Tarmak Barbarian, a Minotaur Fighter, and a Hill Dwarf Druid (All good aligned). I know my story is an elderly human ranger (War of the Lance Veteren) came upon them on his travels when they were younger, probably around ten- twenty years ago. They were alone and orphaned, and he took them in and raised them in a small village that is primarily comprised of like minded folk (Old veterens and there families). The ranger who raised them is the leader of the village. There will be one other foundling in his care, much younger, a 12 year old girl he found a couple of years ago (who is actually an irda). One day while the chars are out hunitng or something, she is abducted and the elderly ranger asks them to go find her ( I kind of think they would do it anyway as they see her as there sister). Once they rescue her they bring her back. But I think the Ranger will have been killed and replaced by a Sivak. The Sivak will be making drastic changes to the village. The questions I have are, what sort of creatures should I have kidnap the girl, and what location do you all think would be good for the village? |

If you want undead, the village should be in Nightlund or Northen Solamnia. If you want Wemics, Nordmaar. If you want Ogres, in Blodehelm or Southern Ergoth. |

#4zombiegleemaxDec 12, 2003 2:03:40 | Well, Ive decided I'm going to put it in Nordmaar, along the Estwilde border somewhere between Teyr and the Moors in the North east. I'm going to use goblins (I guess the close proximity to Estwilde makes it feasible) under the command of a Sivak from Teyr. The Teyr want to infiltrate and obtain some measure of control over the village, knowing it to be populated by fierce and experianced warriors. The sivak is originally in the form of a an unremarkable villager who is gathering information. The sivak realizes the elderly ranger is in an ideal position to assert influence, but knows that his adopted children would defend him. He emplys the goblins to kidnap the young girl and take her into the marsh as a lure for the characters, so that he can assasinate the ranger. When they come back he has already exerted his influence. The only problems i have is that the characters are level one, and an encounter with the Sivak might be a little stiff, though I guess i can have some villagers help them if they expose the Sivak. Also I don't really think Governer Kang would employ these tactics since he is seeking overtures with Nordmaar. But I would think a Draconian nation would have plenty of evil members who might decide they have better ideas then Kang. Any other Ideas? |

They used it in "Doom Brigade" and in one of the short story anthologies about the founding of Teyr itself. Sounds like you have a solid adventure seed there.
