#1zombiegleemaxDec 15, 2003 22:49:05 | Hey everyone, I was looking for some opinions on my current DL campaign. It may sound sort of stupid to you veteran DL players but here you have it- (Note that I have not finished The War of Souls but I have read the time line in the DLCS, so somethings may be a little off) There is a increasingy popular movment in Abansinia called the Leauge of United Abansinians, or LUA if you prefer acronyms. Its lead by Kitko Stormcloud (Which will turn out to be a Silver Dragon). Their long term goal is to (re)claim Qualinesti and give it back to the elfs. However certain things must be done first. The barbarians in Abansinia are stubborn to accept LUA, so the party is sent to Que-Shu on behalf of Kitko to try and convince them to join. The proposal is The barbarians declare allegence to Kitko and LUA, but must pay small amount of Tax. Once that is done, huge news comes from Thoradin, that a knew substance is found, called Repax (Something Kitko new about all along, however). So the party travels to Thoradin (Again on behalf of Kitko) to set up contracts. They find out that The Kights of Neraka have found and somehow gained entrance into Kal-Thax, the anceint dwarfen city, where there is huge reserves of Repax. The Knights plan on making an artifact/set of weapons that plan to use to elmaniate the good dragons. I am sure you can figure out what the party has to do from there on. What do you think? Is it lame? What can be changed to make it better? Thanks in advance. |
#2zombiegleemaxDec 16, 2003 7:03:30 | What does Repax do, how does the news of its discovery reach Abanasinia, and how did the silver dragon know all along? Why didn't the dragon do something about it all along? If there's so much of it, how come the dwarves never noticed it before? Why should the Que-Shu join this League, if all they get out of it is taxation? How would they be taxed (I'm assuming that the plains barbarians don't use currency)? With this taxation, is there going to be some kind of adventurers tax, since these people often end up the richest people in the world (commoners rarely get more than half a steel a week, adventurers start with around 60, and increase from there)? Who are the heroes and why are they going to work for this dragon? Actually, why is anyone going to submit to the LUA, since Abanasinia has always been notorious for its independant city states? Since the long term goal is reclaiming Qualinesti and then giving it back to the elves, why would anyone bother joining? Most normal people don't care about anyone other than themselves, and so don't like taxation, for whatever reason, but if you add that it's for some other race entirely, and that they themselves won't get anything out of it... |
#3baron_the_curseDec 16, 2003 13:15:42 | What does Repax do in game mechanics? What makes it deadlier to dragons than a Dragonlance or an Abyssal Lance? How did the Knights of Neraka learn of its existence, and why do they want to start a campaign to eliminate the good dragons? As they stand now, the Nerekan Knighthood is no position to start any wars, much less against dragons. |
#4zombiegleemaxDec 16, 2003 13:30:39 | Sorry about the vaugness of the first post. I still have worked out all the technicality's of everything yet. Re-Why would the Barbarians join LUA: Well the reason Kitko/LUA is using is because the armys in Qualinesti are becoming hostile, and Abansinia doesn't face much of a chance disorganized. Re- What would the Barbarians use for Tax: The thought that they didn't use currency didn't actually cross my mind. Maybe a percentage of their crops? Re-What does Repax do: Its a magic material sort of. The reason dwarfs haven't found it yet is because most of it is around/in Kal-Thax. Just small amounts of it have been found so far. The anceint maybe just didn't recognize its use? Re- How did the Knights of Neraka know about it and why are they starting a war: Perhaps they have there own Dragon that knows about it. And with this substance none could stop them. |

#6zombiegleemaxDec 16, 2003 15:15:35 | Just FYI...it's Abanasinia. Just like 'Leauge', 'elfs', 'allegence', 'Kights', 'anceint', 'dwarfen' and 'elmaniate' are all spelt wrong. Although elfs and elves and dwarfen and dwarven is more a matter of preference. It's more likely to be poor typing than poor spelling. Or vice versa |

#8brimstoneDec 16, 2003 17:14:24 | I didn't get that far into it. I didn't think it was a typo...I thought it was a mis-understanding of the name. My bad. |
