#1zombiegleemaxDec 24, 2003 14:06:25 | Is there any place where I can easily reference where certain classic modules took place in terms of geography? We all know where the Temple of Elemental Evil is, but what about the Tomb of Horrors? Did the Slaver series take place in the area of the Pomarj, as the Living Greyhawk Gazeteer suggests? How about Against the Giants? Did that occur in Geoff? Keoland? The Yeomanry? |
#2zombiegleemaxDec 24, 2003 14:34:34 | I don't have it right now, I would have to dig it out. The classic modules actual locations were provided in the original World of Greyhawk boxed set. You could always get it from www.svgames.com. They have all this stuff for sale as downloads. |

Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl is in the Crystalmists by Geoff. Hall of the Fire Giant King is in the Hellfurnaces at the latitude of the Yeomanry. The 25th anniversary version takes place completely in Geoff and the surrounding mountains. What other modules do you want to know about? |
#4zombiegleemaxDec 24, 2003 21:01:11 | All of them. I'm currently making a new campaign and I want to use some classic modules for nostalgia's sake, but first I want to see if it would make sense for the party to even undergo those adventures... The party itself is a conglomerate of peoples from Celene, The Principality of Ulek and Humans from the Pomarj. I'm setting the campaign in the CY 575, so that the party can be a part of both classic modules like Temple of Elemental Evil, and then take part in the Greyhawk Wars, etc... Thanks for the help! |

#6zombiegleemaxDec 26, 2003 1:38:23 | For looking all of that information up! It's nice to see people who are willing to help others out. So... It looks like I'll be throwing the Slaver Series at them after (or even during) their battle with the Temple of Elemental Evil. Boy, I can't wait to relive the old days... I've said it before and I'll say it again... Why don't they publish more actual new Modules for the game? That I can hold in my hands! Also, are the newer modules like Sunless Citadel, etc. also set in Greyhawk? Or are they just sort of generic modules for use anywhere? |
#7omoteDec 26, 2003 9:57:26 | Originally posted by Burgoyne Apprently they are set in GREYHAWK, because there are a few minor references to the GH setting, but essentially these are GENERIC MODULES. ...........................Omote |

#10robbastardDec 27, 2003 15:55:41 | This page has hex locations (Darlene map) for most of the adventures: http://www.dracheninsel.de/insel/add/greyhawk/modules.htm And this page has some info on the "official" outcomes: http://www.cmc.net/~rtaylor/greyhawk/modules.html |

That I can hold in my hands![/b] Try Dungeon. Whenever I pick it up for the LGJ there seem to be scenarios in there set in GH and as Erik Mona is the editor you've gotta assume they are at least accurate to the setting. I can't advise on the quality of adventure, or hackfactor for the KoDT fans out there, as I've not played them. |
#12zombiegleemaxDec 29, 2003 0:03:12 | Dungeon IS a good resource. I guess I just miss the good old days of Gygax flavored modules. Incidentaly, the campaign has gotten underway, with a training session for new players on the eastern borders of the Principality of Ulek. I'm actually using B2, Keep On The Borderlands, as my source for this simple adventure... Since two of the party members are Elves from Celene I figure it will be an easy matter to get them embroiled in the Temple of Elemental Evil module, perhaps they are relations to the Elven nobles being held in the temple. If the party doesn't bite at this I will move them on to the Slaver Series. Thanks again! |
#13faraerDec 29, 2003 14:55:41 | I guess I just miss the good old days of Gygax flavored modules. Luckily, we have them in the new days too. Necropolis, "Jolly Jongleurs" (Uninvited Guests), "The Revenge of Ghorkai" (The Slayer’s Guide to Dragons), "The Peak of the Nightlord" (The Slayer’s Guide to Undead), The Hermit, Hall of Many Panes (imminent), Living the Lejend (forthcoming, non-D&D), Zagyg's Castle (forthcoming)... |
