Here's one that I tossed out there on the old boards about a year ago and got a lot of response for, so I'll try again with the new (and old) blood.

Here's my theory:

If you were a) a superpowerful sorcerer, b) a superpowerful psion, c) smart enough and wiley enough to survive a good 2-4,000 years with others of similar strength running about, would you leave no contingency plan in case someone was actually successful in killing you?

Honestly, it would seem that any sorcerer king or queen would have the forsight to figure out that someone might, just might, try to kill them and possibly succeed. So at least a few of them must have had plans in place in case that event occured. I'd be willing to bet all of them did, out of those who survived to modern times, of course.

There are exceptions to this rule, however: Kalid-Ma virtually commited suicide and Sielba made the mistake of crossing a powerful king and one-time lover in Hamanu. Bad idea, as Hamanu would likely have learned Sielba's secrets during "pillow talk."

But think of Kalak. Think of Sacha and Wyan, for that matter. Tec? Possibly.

Here's what I think and this is what I wove into my campaign a while back. Events went down as the Prism Pentad said, but they did not stay that way. Kalak had a contingency plan in place and it eventually took effect, bringing him back (in a somewhat diminished, but still powerful, condition).

Sacha and Wyan were beheaded, but kept in undeath so that whatever plans they had in store for that time when they might die would never take place. When Sadira killed one, and Rikus killed the other, those two actually allowed the ancient champions to enact their multiple contingency spells, something they could not do when they were "dead."

Now some of the champions, Borys and Albeorn, would still be screwed. Why? Because they're stuck in the Black and are not dead.

See? Evil can be fun.

Where there is a WILL there is always a WAY.

I planned on bring Albech-Re back with her own plan. I liked using her and was disappointed when Sadira nuked her.

Statis Clone (F Realms)

another was where the minds survived death. They held their minds together with pure WILL and possessed another. It will take time to work back into the system and have the body adjust to allow the dragon metamorphisis to kick in oh course. But patience is a virtue to someone whom has lived 2000+ years already

(Speaking for myself)

Alberon^WAndropinis' escape from the black is always a constant source of speculation. There certainly could be a corps of former templars and Shadow Wizards who get together to figure out how to get him out in time ... I doubt that what actually happeed to the individual SKs is common knowldge. If I were Rikus and Sadira, I'm not sure that I'd be lobbing out the blow-by-blows of what happened to who ...

As for Albech-Re and Borys ... it's problematic. They were Taken by Rajaat's essence ... What that really means, one can't be quite sure, but it certainly seems like it would be messy. On the other hand, Albech-Re never exactly struck me as being the most strong-willed of the bunch ... I could see her miraculously "escaping" at some point ... Rajaat isn't one to throw away tools. Usually. I doubt he do anything but torment Borys. The hatred runs too deep.

Tech. I have no comments on him.
