#1zombiegleemaxJan 09, 2004 1:00:59 | I'm interesting in seeing peoples favorite Characters that they have played in any DL campaign. #2baron_the_curseJan 09, 2004 3:01:27 | Char 6! By the gods he must be an unpleasant Silvanesti to be around. Not that Silvanesti come in anything else than “unpleasant” and “arrogant ass”. Still, Char 6 is better than Con or Wis 6. Cool character though, is he a Black Robe or a Red Robe? I’m guessing Red Robe do to his specialty. |
#3The_White_SorcererJan 09, 2004 5:18:05 | Originally posted by Baron the Curse Heh. I'm guessing Red Robe due to his alignment. My character? Kyris de-Athak Male Minotaur, 5th-level Ranger Neutral good; Patron: Habbakuk Str 14, Dex 14, Con 12, Int 11, Wis 14, Cha 6 A deserter from the minotaur army. Member of the Legion of Steel. |
#4zombiegleemaxJan 09, 2004 9:30:45 | He is a Red Robe, For now, but he has very strong tendancies twords evil. And his is VERy unpleasent to be around. For example, we have a Minotaur Fighter in the Party and, due to my Character saving his ares a few too many timeshe has INDENTURED the Minotaur to his service. He also treat the entire party like they are stupid, and only thinks of them in terms of how they can help him, such as bodygaurds and such. We actually play a system of WOHS that dosen't require specialization, so if he DOES switch to Black robe he won't be TOTTALY weak for awhile, all he'll lose is the Magic of Change ability, he won't have to switch spcializations, or take new Prohibited schools (His current Prohibiteds are Abjuration and Enchantment). |
#5zombiegleemaxJan 09, 2004 9:40:12 | I'm learning about Ansalon through the eyes of Casadh Human White Robe mage (lvl 6), LG str 9 dex 10 con 10 int 19 wis 16 cha 14 Recently released from being polymorphed into a book, thanks to the return of magic. He thinks magic is at it's most stable in magic items, so he wants to research items, and learn the rare ability to eventually make more. |
#6darthsylverJan 09, 2004 11:21:55 | If I posted my favorite character I would probably be burned on a stake. Just to give a sample. My kender, Stargazer Lightfoot, started off as a standard Rogue (Handler) who happily adventured with friends and eventually died as a 20th level 2E Thief (Handler). Most of his career he and his friends thwarted plan after plan of Takhisis. When he died most of his friends had already expired. Takhisis being the hate filled deity she was made a deal with Chemosh for Stargazer's soul. Mishakel taking pity on Stargazer and stopped him from dying but somehow he wound up in the abyss alive and well. He inadvertently stumbled across Raistlin battling the Dark Queen and was so entranced that he said "I wish that I could do that." Unknowing to the character (and me as well) Stargazer had a ring of wishes. Needless to say the DM asked for my character sheet and held onto it for a week before returning it to me. Stargazer had been returned to Krynn, eventually traveld to Forgotten Realms, partook in the Robotech Expedicinary Force and has been folded into the Battletech universe. No DM in their right mind would allow me to play my little lost kender. So he now acts as my "DM's Avatar" whenever I DM anygame. I mainly use him for comedy relief but he occasionally aids a party in serious need. Needless to say Stargazer has levels in D&D - Rog, Wiz, Clr, & Rgr, as well as the Psionic template. Robotech - Destroid Pilot, Veritech Pilot, & Cyclone Rider Battletech - Knows how to pilot Battlemechs, Omnifighters and Dropships. As stated no DM\GM\Storyteller in their right mind would allow me to play Stargazer without some serious reworking. But he is fun as an avatar. :D :D :D :D |

#8kalanthJan 09, 2004 12:43:54 | I have two favorites that I have had. One I played, one a friend played in my campaign. The first of the two is: Evilios Ironleaf Qualinesti Elf Alignment: Choatic Good Class: Ranger 4 / Sorcerer 6 / Arcane Archer 4 / Skylord 6 Str: 10, Dex: 17, Con: 12, Int: 14, Wis: 11, Cha: 18 This character was tons of fun. Not much of the leader type, though he had the charisma for it, but he was the one that would start most conflicts. That is, considering that the campaign he was in was taking place around Qualinesti as they tried to liberate the area from the Knights of Neraka. The downside was that this character was killed by the auto kill rule. The group was attacked by Vampire Spawn, and one managed a 20 when it attacked me, then another to see if it was a crit, then another on the third to see if it was an auto kill. The character was an NPC, so I was the one controlling the dice, so I know that they were legite rolls. The second, that my friend played: Balteak uth Shipp Human (Solamnic) Alignment: Lawful Evil Class: He was originally 2nd ed, so he was a 12th level Fallen Knight of Takhisis. I think that translates into a 5 Fighter / Knight of the Lilly 5 / Rogue Knight 2. I have never converted him to 3.0 or 3.5. Str: 16, Dex: 14, Con: 18, Int: 12, Wis: 12, Cha: 14 This character was the leader of the group. He left the Knights of Neraka because he discovered that his commanding officer was trying to bring Takhisis back to the world. This campaign was after the Dragons of Summer Flame, and well before the War of Souls reveiled the truth about the Gods. I interpreted that if the Gods returned to Krynn, than the father of the Gods would destroy the world. Balteak was working for a Knight by the name of Kalanth Vladermin. When he realized what Kalanth was planning, he quickly defeacted, joining with the heroes that were trying to stop the Knights of Takhisis. |
#9jrblasingameJan 09, 2004 14:26:50 | Truthfully my favorite Dragonlance character actually was never played in DL. I played a Solomnic Knight (got him up to 7th lvl Knight of the Sword) and was jsut an all around great character. His stats when I rolled them were the best roles I have ever rolled and yet to match. I rolled 4 natural 18s, a 17, and a 13. He is probably the last Paladine-type class I played accurately. I eventually got tired of being LG all the time so I play Ng now. But this guy traveled quite a bit in the FR (traveled a lot on the First lvl of Undermountain). He started a church (read Cathedral) dedicated to the Gods of the Solomnic Knights (Paladine, Kiri Jolith, and Habakkuk {sp}). He also formed the Knights of Waterdeep, based off of (you guessed it) the Knights of Solomnia. I really liked this character, but he is pretty much in retirement now. As there is no way to change him from 2e to 3e or even 3.5, he is in permanent retirement  . which is sad really I REALLY liked this character (and not just because of the stats). **Edit: Just so you know, my DM only runs FR but allows certain things to "leak" in. So, my character was able to take a portal to get to FR (which is when I started playing him). |
#10carteegJan 09, 2004 20:18:58 | I was DMing DL, so technically the character only qualifies as an NPC. However, the character I had the most fun with was actually one of the creatures. Okay, if you are running through the original DL1-14 modules right now and you haven't finished DL4, stop reading. I don't want to trip anything up. I'll wait for those of you to leave the room so I don't spoil and traps...err... plans of your DM. *whistles and waits* *slam* Good. They're gone. It's only a minor note anyway, but before the 'final' confrontation in DL4 with Verminaard there is a woman that could be found chained to the wall as a prisoner. Well, in reality this is a Noble Lamia, who I gathered is supposed to attack, slow the party down a tad, then die. Well, the group was moving too quickly at this point. So the woman was 'freed', and they bolted off at high speed. Verminaard was defeated; Eben was captured; yadda yadda yadda. But I realized I still had this freed Noble Lamia in human form roaming Thorbardin with the rest of the refugees. Oops. Well, I knew that the group was going to split soon in DL6, so I figured the party needed to be enlarged a little so the split up groups weren't undermanned. Enter the noble lamia. I quickly threw together a backstory of the dragonarmies attempting to go into Darken Wood up north, killing one noble lamia that wasn't too friendly and capturing another. She was caged, hauled down south, and step up as a trap figuring she was a wild creature that would just kill when she got the chance. The lamia figured to F.U. the armies. She didn't attack. In fact, although remaining evil, she decided to help the party in order to get her revenge. She named herself Aimal Elbon just to throw her identity in the group's face without them realizing it (it worked), and occationally used her magic (to solely her own benefit) confusing the group on what class she was. Aimal's personally caused friction in the group. She was openly hostile to those that she thought were behaving stupidly and ragged on those that (in her mind) deserved it. Oddly enough, some of the characters began to like her for this and others came to completely hate her. The only thing that caused problems is that she tended to go into extremely violent rages from time to time due to her attempting to hold back her usual violent tendancies. Other times, she secretly worked to screw over others that were not specifically in the group. She even killed the head of the ice folk right before the group left for Icewall without anyone figuring it out. She made an interesting scapegoat when Derek Crownguard was murdered in the middle of the night by another member of the group. It was 'instantly' assumed that she did it. She was insulted and end up killing an unconscious Feal-Thas in a sudden vent of anger. It was humorous. I couldn't believe she lasted up until the High Clerist Tower before being forced to leave the group... oddly enough she had to leave because she was 'helping' another party member. Go fig. In short, she was a GREAT role-play instigator. |

#12zombiegleemaxJan 12, 2004 4:18:28 | At this point in time i am about to start a campaign as a PC, set about 5 to 6 weeks after the war of the souls. in the party we have a silvanesti mage (aiming at red wizard) two aspiring solimanmic knights (one a cleric and one a fighter) and my character Greydawn 1st lvl human ranger - Que-Shu STR 16, DEX 17, CON 16, INT 14, WIS 15, CHA 13 all of those stats were rolled using 4D6 dropping the lowest and assigning where pleased. the concept for Greydawn is that the elders of the tribe have learn't that Malys has died and have sent out individual scouts to learn what happened to the nativelands, and if suitable would start to relocate there. as i advance through levels i'll go with the archer option, thus creating an archer plainsmen. this isn't the only character i've played in dragonlance, but i think (if he survives) that he'll be one of my favorites. |
