#2 The_White_Sorcerer Jan 12, 2004 10:17:11	When? Before the War of the Lance, it was taken over by a hideous nightmare. After that, it was sealed by a magical shield that drained the life away from the plants and creatures of the forest. After the War of Souls, it was taken over by minotaurs.
#3 frostdawn Jan 12, 2004 10:51:47	Silvanost has only truly been "cursed" during Lorac's dream. (the shield was an enchantment, and the Minotaurs are an invasion force) The dream came about as King Lorac (Alhanna's father) sought to use a dragon orb in the defense of Silvanost. His will wasn't strong enough to control the orb, and he was instead controlled by it. A green dragon by the name of Cyan Bloodbane (IIRC) whispered in Lorac's ear evil suggestions which caused nightmarish transformations to the lands of Silvanost through Lorac and the dragon orb. The trees would bleed, animals were twisted versions of themselves, undead wandered the forests, etc. Silvanost stayed this way by and large until Porthios with wilderness mage types and warriors fought back the evil and restored the lands to their original state. (Lorac died during the War of the Lance, but the magic the orb wrought under his control stayed in effect)
