#1zombiegleemaxFeb 04, 2004 14:25:59 | In the good old days when DS first came out Ral Partha (through TSR) produced minis that were for DS. The problem that I have with them is that they all aren't the same scale. For instance, the Gith are about a 25mm scale and the gladiators are about a 20mm. Particularly annoying. Now that there are rules that make sense to use minis there arent any "official" minis for DS. Here is a list on minis that I have been collecting for use in Dark Sun. These are from different companies but do the job pretty well (at least I think so). Kreen: mini Gladiators: mini 1 mini 2 mini 3 Humans: Mini 1 mini 2 mini 3 Halfling: mini Female Preserver: mini Mul (with a bit of work) : Mini So, those are the ones that I have, what ones do you use? Mine are somewhat painted, I just don't have pics of them. |

They come pre-painted, which sometimes can be kinda shotty, but they are good aids for DM's and they are pretty cheap, about less than 2 bucks per miniature. |

Cost benefit analysis: 6 bucks each. Granted, the pre-painting is nice (I don't paint my minis and only a few of my players do), but the quality is downright hideous. Also, the use in Dark Sun is rather limited without some serious suspension of disbelief (but then again, that should be easy, we are talking DS here). Perhaps if they ever release some kind of savage set . . . but even then I don't have high hopes. Then there's that red dragon . . . . that's simply a shame. |
